I'm glad Brandon Beane isn't our general manager.  He gave up a fortune in draft picks for Diggs.  Stefon Diggs is a good player but not worth what they traded for him when the upcoming draft is full of good receivers.  This was a terrible trade.

I’m beginning to think these GM’s are already getting bored with this self containment.

“I’m bored. You guys wanna trade Hopkins?”

”I’m tired of sitting in this house doing nothing. I wonder how many picks it will take for Diggs. ALL of them?! Well. Alright.”

Oh, I think Bill O'Brien firmly believes he knows what he's doing.

That's what would scare me if I were a Texans fan.

The Bills are operating on a 2 year window where Allen is still cheap. They needed a WR capable of moving Brown and Beasley to the WR2-3 roles they are suited for. It’s a strong draft no doubt. But expecting any rookie WR to be your WR1 out of the gate is a big ask.

Plus Diggs has no guaranteed money. They can restructure him and still not be in bad shape. The late picks are nothing.

It might be an overpay but if TB is gone, their window is open now. I don’t blame them for jumping through it.

There really have been some one-sided trades. I sure wish we could be on the positive side of some of these deals. Sadly, I think the overall lack of talent on this roster may be prohibitive. Bill O'Brien continues to get fleeced and Diggs is definitely not worth the picks. For that matter, SF made out like a bandit in the trade with Indy.

Late picks are nothing?.....Diggs was a 5th round pick

And Tom Brady was a 6th. How about we list the other 90% that don’t amount to anything? You can pick up a 5th trading back a few spots in the 4th. So yes......nothing in the context of a deal involving a top WR and 1st round pick

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
