Just watched the second episode of "Unmasked". Caught the part where Steven Drummond and Matt Rhule discussed how to respond to Newton's video. I expect a few people are gonna find that disingenuous now.

That said, the video also reminded me of one of Rhule's old Giants acquaintances, former Director of College Scouting and later Vice President of Player Evaluation Marc Ross. Had some thoughts about Ross back when we were talking about the new front office job(s) Tepper said he was creating before, but seeing he and Rhule meet up and chat at the combine made me think of him again.

Ross got loads of GM interviews during his time with the Giants but no offers. As the Giants began to decline under Jerry Reese though, Ross fell out of favor.  Shortly after taking over as Giants GM from the fired Reese, Dave Gettleman fired Ross as well. He's since taken an analyst job with NFL Network.

Since Ross isn't currently employed by an NFL team, no permission to interview him for our available Assistant GM job would be required.

Makes me wonder if his acquaintance with Rhule could get his foot back in the proverbial personnel door.

(FYI: The same question could conceivably be asked of Reese)

Ross and Jeremiah for AGM - kick Marty to some role within the org that doesn't involve many touchvpoints in personnel on the field.

Rodrigue confirmed that Marty's contract only runs through the end of this season.

For him to stick means Tepper would have to offer him something new or (God forbid) an extension.

I can't imagine a brilliant man like Tepper allowing one of the greatest evaluators of college talent there is just walk away.
