Panthers will take Brown at #7 unless somehow Chase Young falls as a miracle. Simmons is an outside chance. Okudah won't make it past Detroit.

Panthers will take a QB at #38 only if one of the top 5 QBs is still on the board. Could be Hurts. If not, I think we'll grab Kmet at TE.

Third round will be Hennessy from Temple to shore up O-line and prepare to play center.

You don't trade away top 10 picks when you have as many needs as the Panthers have.  It's that simple.  We need more picks, not less.

BTW - we've also already "drafted" our QB in PJ Walker.

I believe the thinking in the building right now is:  "We have our veteran / game manager in Bridgewater.  We have our high potential guy in PJ Walker.  We even have Grier as a camp arm / potential PS guy.  We don't need another QB."

If they had ANY doubts about that, there is no way they would have traded away Kyle Allen.  For all his faults, KA was a perfectly serviceable backup and short term starter.

Interesting. If we get Simmons does he primarily play Safety with Burris playing nickel? I like Simmons, I just worry about him playing with our terrible defensive line...

Simmons without a rebuilt DL will have the impact fixing a busted pipe with a wad of chewing gum.  So naturally this will Hurney's pick if Simmons still on the board.

We are going offense first rd. We can get DT or CB 2nd-3rd Rd. Watch and see

Does he come with his own ambulance or is that just another cost of trading up for this guy? If this really did happen it  might actually top the Gilbert debacle as the Panther's worst trade. I want no part of wasting a 1st on injury prone player.

The only trades I really want to see involve moving back and acquiring draft capital.  We have chased players in the draft recently and lost on those bets. It would be real cool if we stopped doing that.

The surprise QB pick team is Washington.  I am not sure that they have not already started putting the pieces in place to have Allen as a backup QB--could they dangle Haskins in a trade during the draft?

Detroit is another.

With our two recent acquisitions, I do not see QB this year.

If we go offense in the first round, it will be an OT, not a qb--there are too many OTs there not to consider one.

OT

CB

DE  (this is my surprise--a DE before a DT)

DT

I wouldn't say it won't be QB. So ur saying u trust PJ Walker that's never played in an NFL game or Grier that looked like garbage. I like Teddy but we are worst in backups this year than last year. We will most definitely draft one if the right one we like falls. Also we are not set on wr if u look at system Brady runs and I'm not sold on Samuel. I think it could be WR, QB, CB then OT or DT. We are not drafting Brown and Simmons is just another Jabril Peppers no set position and we don't want the trouble of trying to figure that out

I don't know how anyone can imagine we'll go offense early. But, I've been surprised before. I don't see it though.

Don't be surprised this is a new team and philosophy. What did having a great defense do for is in the first 25 years, no Super Bowls. We didn't bring Brady in here to be mediocre on offense. We are going to be a high powered offense and need more weapons

To answer your question: No.  I am not saying I am totally sold on the depth at QB.  I said it is more likely, if we draft an offensive player, that it will be an offensive tackle--looking at the talent in the draft and our long-term needs, it is the smart play.   I am not sold on depth anywhere--but something I HAVE said is that people need to stop looking at this draft as a 1-year quick fix.  If you have OL problems and pick in the middle of the best OT crop in years, you---draft a QB to compete with the $60m QB you just signed?  Anything can happen--which is why this is interesting   By the way, you are exactly right--Walker has never played an NFL game--neither has Tua, Burrow, or Herbert.

Simmons is the first round pick, unless something crazy happens.

    • lmao that's a good point; but at the same time I think and HOPE Canales learned from how he operated last year, only giving us one real look against the Bills that had people shouting 'Super Bowl'...only to come out flat.
    • I mean the whole defense was trash, he was at least trying. Besides if you put a all-pro among 10 PSers, that all-world will look human. It's very hard to judge very bad units and find the best players among them. Horn and Mjack played well too, there was 0 pass rush and -1777784 run defense.
    • I was looking back and seen Evan Neal has made the switch to OG after awful years at OT.......I wanted him over Icky for his tricep alone..... I was 100% stroud too, I was super pissed about his record setting and playoff leading start......I had arich vastly over the midget BY too. But right now, BY is about the only one on the up&up. The Texans used lots of prime draft capital to help Stroud.  It's still not ready. But if you're honestly about past drafts, these GMs are not alone in making mistakes.  I still feel they should stayed put and allowed Carter to fall in their lap, but best I know Tepper had the worst rage about landing a QB for the past 5 years. The deal is with the correct coaching staff, Baker or darnold would still be here....Baker has signed 3 years for 100 million, which is a great NFL QB contract. Tepper hiring rhule and his shitty Baylor/temple staff was a massive setback given rhule was in control too. Then panic set in an d fitteerererererer had to make a winner and find a QB. Ugh.....I hope they are back...
