Agree with you except for Derrick Brown.  Brown was a top 5 recruit in the entire country and Temple was never anywhere near his radar.  That being said, it wasn't hard to get information about Derrick Brown as one of the best high school players in the country followed by being one of the best college players in the country for four years.

Yeah, Brown was a beast out of high school. 5 star, top 10 on Rivals, and 247.

There's an obvious difference in talent evaluation compared to Ron and Hurney. The two safeties and all of the D-lineman seem like they will be contributors fast and are great depth. In my opinion it doesn't feel like there was a reach in any of the rounds of this draft, no way would Rhule cosign trading up for a player like Gaulden.

Ron has his strengths, and some of our team success during his tenure is certainly due to those qualities. He's a great leader and unifying presence imho.

But player evaluation, among other weakness (game management, blind loyalty), made it seem like he rode the short bus to school at times.

TLDR - I'm happy we have Rhule. (But I still wish Ron all the best.)

Or it might be the fact that the coach having influence is better and smarter.

That's my guess after see the Redskins draft. It looked so familiar to a Panthers draft under Rivera. All over the place and weird selections
