Point out the biggest difference in the 2020 Carolina draft and all others since 2011

Rhule is destroying this draft because he recruited all of these guys over the past 5 years and watched them play up close and personal every Saturday.

he will probably dominate the draft for the foreseeable future lmao.

Agree with you except for Derrick Brown.  Brown was a top 5 recruit in the entire country and Temple was never anywhere near his radar.  That being said, it wasn't hard to get information about Derrick Brown as one of the best high school players in the country followed by being one of the best college players in the country for four years.

the fact that Rhule doesn't have to recruit now, and can pick whoever tf he wants or have Tepper throw money at someone is bad news for the league.

It’s similar to the Seahawks drafts when Carroll got there initially, for like 4-5 years they were elite at drafting and it almost built them a dynasty. In more recent years their drafts have sucked. Our next several drafts with Rhule leading the charge will be great but after that we’ll need a different strategy — hopefully we’ve hired a great GM by then.

Not sure this is entirely accurate. Baylor didn't play Auburn, Penn St or SIU once in his 3 years there. And I highly doubt while he was focusing on scheming against the teams he actually had to play, he was heavily scouting these other teams he didn't have on his schedule, particularly an FBS team. Or to say he has some special insight on these players he never played against in college over pro scouts whose primary job is to watch their college tape seems far fetched. Also if that were the case, you'd think the track record for coaches making the leap from college to the NFL would be a lot better, at minimum in the drafting department.

That's not to say he doesn't deserve a large amount of credit for these picks. Undoubtedly traits he values are going to be emphasized. I suspect it's more along the lines of Hurney and the scouting department compile their draft lists with strengths and weaknesse of each prospect and Rhule will say "Amongst these players and based on these evals, I want that guy cause he has the measurables/attitude/versatility/etc that is needed for success on this team."

Gotta figure teams who played LSU in there as well.

You realize Tepper's billions are a non factor because he's restrained by the same salary cap as every other team, right? Granted we dont 'have to worry about a cheap owner like some teams do, but that aside Tepper's money doesn't matter when it comes to players. It can definately help in other areas like facilities, top flight coaching staff etc.

I'm not really sure you can judge that right now. Give me three years and I will tell you. With so many holes this year it looks like we are rebuilding the defense. Next draft will probably be offense heavy to sure up the oline.

    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
    • You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.
    • Okay, who is coming. And how hard is it going to be to get tickets? I’m currently living in Germany a couple hours north of Munich. Happy to help facilitate a cheaper experience for help getting tickets lol.
