Rivera says they wouldn't want to bring Cam to DC because of Kyle Allen?

Rivera has been a POS to me since 2013. The year Shula took over as OC and every time we lost or the offense didn’t show up he always blamed execution. He was right but it wasn’t player execution. Players skills can be hindered by and offensive or defensive play caller. Wander out of the realm of the concept and you get shut for it. Rivera and his old school military beliefs ruined some great teams, ruined Cam Newton and caused us to be complacent for years. I hope for nothing but the worst from him in DC. Redskins fans are Delusional in thinking that Rivera did great things here and it was our organization holding him back. These motherfugers have the nerve to talk about someone else owner or front office when theirs might be the shittiest in sports for over 2 decades.

Damn Ron. Damn.

Redskins coach Ron Rivera said adding free agent QB Cam Newton "depends on circumstances."

Additionally, Rivera stated, "I think with Cam (Newton), and I have thought about it, I mean, it's something that's run through my mind, and it's about the situation and circumstances. I'm not sure I would do it. I'm not sure if I wouldn't do it." Previously the Redskins' new coach said that they passed on Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 2 overall pick because he saw enough from Haskins to give the second-year QB a shot to lead the offense in 2020. Rivera addressed this as well, noting, "You know, the thing about Cam really is the situation ... We're in a situation where we've got two really young quarterbacks, one that's been with us, been in the system, understands how we want things done and the other one is a guy who was taken last year in the first round and shows some promise." Ultimately, it's going to be hard for Cam to find a team until they're able to conduct a physical.

Cam is toast and Rivera knows it, and he knows he's the one that did it.

Thread title is 100% FALSE.

You are so bad at your job that you are gifted a once in a lifetime type player....a QB with talents the NFL had never seen, on a rookie deal...my GOD what a gift.

And you have absolutely no idea what on Earth to do with it.....Marty Hurney ladies and gentlemen.

Rivera followed Buddy Ryan's example with Randall Cunningham.

Ryan believed all he needed was for Cunningham to make two or three big plays a game and his defense would take care of the rest. Rivera did exactly the same thing with Newton.

And history will probably repeat itself in DC. I feel sorry for Dwayne Haskins.

It’s not the GMs job to maximize the talents of your franchise QB...that’s the job of the coaching staff, specifically OC and QBC. Unfortunately, the Panthers never invested enough in Cam’s development either.

They're too afraid to bring in any real competition for Haskins. Kyle Allen's just a dude on the bench.

Allen has a long, uneventful career holding a clipboard. I don't hate it, It made Anderson rich and his body is in tact for the rest of his life.

Exactly. Get him Tedd Ginn and the offense is set. To be fair, it almost even worked one season somehow.

That somehow was Cam being a man among boys and doing anything, anything, it took to compete no matter the personal cost.

Not just one Rookie but two. Most coaches would have won multiple SB with Cam and Luke. Not many coaches get that in a few years span.

He will play because Rivera churns and Burns QBs. He will use those QBs up in 5 years.
