I’d say there are few here that make more than I do....I’m not mad or hating, I’ve been nearly broke before so I feel for anyone that is unemployed at the moment.

I’ve been broke, broke, broke before during college. My parents had to give me money so I could pump gas into my beat up rusted Toyota Camry that my brother gave me which I finally sold it for $300 a couple months back to help a buddy out. I’m not the richest man in the world but I’m living solidly at the moment. I’m all about helping people out if I can. I’ve helped my gf’s family plenty of times in the past to the point that I stopped doing so bc they kept doing the same shiat over and over. It’s a tough time right now for everyone and even myself at times. But there are a lot of these people who needs money and food on the table. And they have just blown their $1200 stimulus money on some dumb shiat. I know some of those people. And one guy (POS) with three kids that I know who doesn’t want to work at all. Has quit 3-4 jobs in the past bc he was just fuggn lazy, somehow out of anybody found a job during this time. I’m sure that he has done quit by now. I’m done ranting. I’m here to talk football and Caroline Panthers. Go to reddit if you want to talk about covid19.

it sucks, but it justifies the decision we made.

his shoulder is shot

Must be.

No use in everyone having their feelings all bent out of shape.

My daughter in law said is foot will not be the same either, will have a lot of loss of motion.  She is PT

I think Cam might be better just having a "pro day" of sorts and showing his arm and mobility off.  The workout videos are not gonna convince anyone to sign him

Todd gurley and marquise lee off the top of my head

You are 100% correct.

Gurley was on the market for less than 24-hours before agreeing to a new deal with the Falcons which was secured on 3/20/20 pending a physical.

On 4/7/20 the Falcons GM went on the record with the following:

"We looked closely at it," Dimitroff said of Gurley's health. "We have language in our contracts that are going to protect us and the player". If the player comes in and has an issue that he might not pass a physical, then that's something that we'll address then. We're not looking at it that way [of Gurley possibly failing the physical]. In our mind, we're thinking about Todd Gurley coming in ... he really takes care of his body well and he'll continue to work on it.

"We'll continue to be very mindful about what we are dealing with. We feel very comfortable with it. Of course, this is a tough game and it's a warrior game. We know that. ... But he's a hard-charging runner. And he's an excellent football player. We are counting on him to be an excellent football player for us."

-------------------------------

Therein lay the rub, the inability to conduct an immediate physical is not the issue preventing any NFL team from signing up Cam Newton...

...see the highlighted quote above.

If a team was interested in Cam they would take the same path as the Falcons have with Gurley --- namely, lock him down and take him off the market, and protect the team on the off chance the player (Cam) cannot pass a physical.

The excuses really have become incredibly laughable...

Durability concerns aside, what has Cam shown that prices he could be great in this league?

Sure he had some high highs. But his entire career here has been a convincing story of inconsistency. Players who are great may not be flashy all the time, but they are very consistent.

Any team considering Cam would be rolling the dice twice- once for his durability, and another for actual production.

why is he so concerned with framing himself a certain way?   i don't get it.  these videos are about social media standing.  they have nothing to do with him getting signed imo.    i'm just old i guess.  who cares what people in internet land think or how they view you.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
