Saints just cut starting OG Larry Warford

They didn't draft Cesar Ruiz #24 overall to sit the bench.

Could we potentially be interested? Should we? Our OG situation isn't exactly solidified and it would be an OL familiar with Brady's system.

Would be an instant huge upgrade. But I mean, we did trade Turner who was better than Warford away

We've acquired adequate guards over the course of the offseason.  No need to create a backlog now.  Plus, we need to be smart with what little cap room we have remaining.  I think the veteran corner thing has been beat to death, but the point still remains.

backlog? What? Schofield is coming off injury. Reed hasn't shown anything yet. Daley is better at tackle. Larsen is underwhelming at guard. The only sure starter we have is Miller. We are far from a backlog.

Id fugging take him in a heartbeat.

The offense Brady is implementing is one that similar to the one Warford just came out of.

Yes we need to keep investing in the oline. I hope we take this more seriously than we have been over the last decade.

We signed a couple of mediocre veteran bandaids. I'm not sure if they'll be adequate or not.

Even if you think all those guys are JAGs, do we have the means to sign him?  No.  Many teams have better resources and can offer him a more lucrative deal.  Warford and his agent surely knows his market.  He's not going to jump at the first 'bread crumb' offer some team throws his way.  That's exactly all we can put forth right now.  Not all holes can be filled in one offseason and the front office has done a sufficient job at trying to fix guard all things considered.  We can't jump on every big name that hits the waiver wire.  If so, some of you need to take a Xanax on June 1st.

He will be 29 in June.  He is a starting caliber NFL G....

You have to wonder if they sought a trade first...

I think we are better at G than people think....

Will this keep us from adding a CB?...that is all.

    • I do think with Fields you must include his rushing, where he has averaged 800 yards per season over 17 games. So he'd be at 3400 yards total in a season. Bryce in comparison is at 2900 yards passing plus 250 yards rushing so just a bit under Fields. Still not even impressive numbers for either of them. I personally found Fields more fun to watch l but I wouldn't choose either of them anymore.
    • Richardson and it's not even close.
    • That’s me. It is a lifelong staple of existence. Watching NFL since I was a youngster in Redskins territory. bBt wasn’t a Redskins fan really, we weren’t that close to DC. I was a Colts fan because my cousins moved to Baltimore. Then Irsay Sr Sr moved them in the dead of night in a huge betrayal. So I was cut loose to be a FA which it sucks to not have a team of your own.  This is why I always loved JR. He gave me a team. So I was automatically a Panthers fan from day one.  What Tepper has done, he should be made to feel ashamed. He is disliked by many and for good reason. He tore our pretty darned good thing down starting the day he took over. Bryce Young is just his most recent instrument of torture.
