I'd still bet that dude did some Tae Kwon Do or something decades ago.  

Would explain the weak boxing skills and yet randomly bringing that back spin kick out of nowhere.  You don't just randomly decide to give that type kick a go.  And for an old man his balance after throwing that kick (which landed) was actually pretty on that kick for an old man.  That kick ended the fight. 

that one kick is what my entire guess/statement was made on.  Rest was just old man slop. 

Boxing is a different beast IMO than some of the martial arts.   I have seen some ancient men that boxed that still throw impressive hands.
