Already a few names that have my interest form other teams-

TE Ben Braunecker

LB Jonas Griffith

LB Brady Sheldon

LB Tre Crawford

DT Ryan Glasgow

LB Todd Davis

TE Jordan Leggett

WR Hakeem Butler

OL Cody Wichmann

DE Joe Jackson

TE Michael Roberts

RB John Kelly

DB Adonis Alexander

I see the panthers making about 3 waiver claims.

What is the story with DE Joe Jackson?  I thought he was a steal in the fifth round---must have been a huge disappointment.  6-4, 275.  He ran under a 4.9 at the combine--but his other measurables were not impressive...

I wonder if the Cowboys are going to run primarily a 3-4 and the news of Gregory returning could have led to this?  Speculation on both fronts.  Just not sure what McCarthy is doing.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix & Muhammad Sanu are a couple of big surprise names.

I don’t think we have room at receiver but Clinton-Dix maybe??

I get the point made here--I read a Dallas site and he was predicted to be the "surprise" cut this year.  Good call.  However, here, at least on paper, I really like where we are at S.  Boston?  Not that much, but maybe as a leader he will step up.  Chinn, Burris, and Robinson--I am really hoping for that to develop.  I hope that we do not bring in someone who will steal time from these 3 new players--but I have not been at practice--so we could be open to it.

Blowboys just had Gregory reinstated, plus they added Aldon Smith and Griffen in FA. No room for a young pup. I like Jackson coming out and thought he was a worth 5th rounder, Dallas scooped him the 5th. I believe @LinvilleGorge liked him too. Part of my list focused on teams that were deep at spots ie dallas at DE, bears at TE, and 49ers at LB. By the end of cuts, you could make a competitive team form them. All except QB have some talents, both young and old with real game exp. I hope Marty acts accordingly...

Yep, I liked him coming out of Miami but his pre-draft workouts were a bit concerning. He definitely tested significantly less athletic than I thought he would. Pre-workouts I thought he was a 4-3 DE. Post-workouts, I thought he was a 3-4 DE. I still wanted him in the 5th last year since after drafting Burns and Miller it sure looked like we were eyeing a full on switch to a 3-4 that never materialized.

I expect a few FA to sign after week one. If the NFL hasnt changed the rule- if a you had a veteran(at least 4yrs) on your roster week one, his salary was guaranteed for the whole year. Making the team week one will not mean much to the players in the 45-53 range.

Jackson was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (165th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft.

I doubt he clears waivers, but if he does, I might find a PS spot for him.  If we claim him, I just do not know enough about him to know whose spot he'd take--Weatherly, YGM, Obada?  We also have jalen Jelks on the roster---I just do not know how good they are doing now--flying blind but still shelling out the wisdom, I am .

Yup he was picked in fifth round, funny Jalen Jelks came for Dallas waving him(he was picked the 7th). Again the blowboys have too many DEs- Lawerance, Griffen, Smith, and Gregory. Shows you its not smart to draft and sign a bunch of FAs at the same time.

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
