What scouts are saying about the Carolina Panthers

Quote

Carolina Panthers: “Matt Rhule’s gonna build it the right way, he’s not gonna look for the quick fix. He’s gonna do it his way and build a foundation first of good players, hard-nosed players and they’re gonna play hard for him.” … “Teddy Bridgewater’s a good player. McCaffrey’s not just a running back. He’s just as good of a slot receiver as he is a running back. In today’s game, the versatility he brings, I just think it’s invaluable.” … “Derrick Brown, he’s one of those guys you put the tape on and he’s a grown man in the college game. He stood out. He imposed his size and strength, very explosive.” … “That’s a thin roster. There’s a couple of pieces on offense, but after that, when you look at their offensive line, it’s not a deep roster — particularly on defense.”

Nothing groundbreaking here. Actually sounds like their NFL scout could be a Huddler.

Not some of the guys on here.  If they interviewed a few on here it would be more like " This is the least talented team of all time and any more than 1 win would be a miracle.  Our front office sucks, our coaches suck, our players suck.  We are just a black hole of an organization."  If you are ever afraid of getting to pumped up about football come to this board, that will fix you.

They have alarms go off whenever someone makes a post that doesn't start with 3 sentences of misery gloom and doom.

Nothing about that will change in 4 games. We will still have a thin roster with a handful of bright spots.

That's 25% of the season, enough to take a load of the speculation away and rust will be much less of an excuse. I want to see how thin and who is a bright spot and who is another hole to upgrade. That is what this season is all about for me.

I do not know what people get out of spending so much time following an organization and doing nothing but criticizing it---as if they alone have set the standard for excellence as a human.  I mean, these guys worked hard and have reached the zenith of their profession, and the plan we have is very well-known. These critics are the same people who go to the hospital maternity ward and shout "get a job" through the window.  These people count breastfeeding as scoring with a woman when bragging at the lodge.  I really wish there was a way to filter them---

You realize there is a block feature, right? All the hyper annoying anti-Panther trolls, hyper annoying Panther homers, hyper annoying Bridgewater haters, hyper annoying Bridgewater nut hangers, hyper annoying Cam haters, hyper annoying Cam nut hangers/now Pats fans, etc....they can all go away with a couple of clicks.

    • Uggh forgot about that
    • I am curious to see if Warren is the elite player that the Huddle Warren stans believe. I am always fairly wary of these first round TE's.
    • The Rossi things isn't going away, either... https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/3312416/unfinished-business-7-players-to-watch-in-back-half-of-nhl-offseason The Wild and Rossi shouldn't be having any trouble hammering out an extension. Rossi, an RFA turning 24 in September, recorded the second-most points on the team last season (60 in 82 games). The smart, skilled, highly competitive 5-foot-9 Austrian is a homegrown top-six center. Minnesota has $10 million in cap space and no other significant spots to fill to finalize its 2025-26 roster. Problems lurk below the surface, however. Coach John Hynes demoted Rossi to the fourth line in the playoffs, dropping his nightly usage from 18 minutes in the regular season to 11 in the first-round series loss to Vegas. GM Bill Guerin's top to-do list item at the moment is to lock up Kirill Kaprizov. The superstar winger, who's been eligible for an extension since July 1, is due for Leon Draisaitl-type money (around $14 million average annual value) starting in 2026-27. Guerin has said there's no rush to sign, trade, or match an offer sheet for Rossi. If he stays, a short-term extension makes sense, since it gives both player and team flexibility. If he leaves, a trade is far more likely than an offer sheet. Half of the league could use a second-line center, and Rossi still has upside. The Hurricanes desperately need to upgrade at 2C (Jesperi Kotkaniemi isn't going to cut it) and have plenty of cap space. Ditto for the Sabres, who picked Jack Quinn one spot before Rossi went to the Wild in the 2020 draft. Mammoth bench boss Andre Tourigny coached Rossi in junior, and they don't have as much wiggle room, but trading top-six winger Nick Schmaltz (plus a pick) could make the math work. Guerin wants to make a so-called "hockey trade" here.
