CMC WILL miss multiple weeks

actually a fairly common dynamic.  Suddenly guys realize they have to do their job, because the star ain't gonna be winning the games for them.

A la Kelvin Benjamin going out in training camp before the Super Bowl run in 2015. All of a sudden, our main weapon was gone and we developed an incredibly balanced attack and made use of everyone's skill set. I'm not saying Superb Owl run here by any means, but for a team learning the ropes, this can be a Godsend.

Still sucks that CMC is hurt. That guy is just the most exciting player to watch in the NFL.

The stars are aligning perfectly for us. Brady and Brees are nearly washed up, so if we land Lawrence and load up the roster with quality free agents next season we might have a shot at winning the NFCS. Especially so if Brady and Brees run smack into the wall and completely go Payton final season noodle arm mode. A second year rebuilding NFCS title. That's not crazy talk. Lawrence is a beast, and we'll have money to plug our holes next season.

Let CMC sit for the full 6 weeks to completely heal, and that's 6 losses in a row almost for certain. We're going to win a game at some point against some terrible team, but we might still have a shot at the #1 overall.

This is literally how you nuke a team, destroy your cap and ruin your future. We aren't in a "win now" mode if we have a rookie QB in his rookie year, especially with the complete dearth of talent on the roster. There are not going to be shortcuts through this process, no matter what fans want. We need to draft well and make good free agency moves(like Weatherly, Anderson, Okung, Douglas). You need to avoid obvious free agency blunders(like signing Paradis, Boston, Thompson, extending KK, making CMC the highest paid RB in the NFL).

This is why Tepper is preaching about "the process." Buckle in to watch this rookie coaching staff learn and watch them polish this giant pile of turds of a roster. There have been steaming heaps of bad, but we are still hanging around and being competitive. We are also getting a good look at some of the guys that might be the future of this team and how they are progressing. Be patient.

This.

Though it is worth noting that if the team does suddenly become NFC South champs while still following the process, that could also mean that we're much further along than expected rather than just everybody else is terribad.

Yeah, that is possible for sure. We have two bad coaches in the division and one evil genius. I suspect NO will be fine unless Payton seriously goes with The Golden Calf of Bristol 2.0.

We need to worry about us in the meantime. They can suck all they want and it won't matter if we fug up this rebuild. Gotta hope we can overcome going Full Hurney.
