“They say four to six weeks,” McCaffrey said. “That’s a challenge to me. Hopefully I can get back a lot earlier. I’m going to attack this.”

If the Panthers put McCaffrey on injured reserve, he’d miss at least three weeks but could return after that thanks to the NFL’s special injured reserve rules for this season. It seems unlikely McCaffrey could be back any sooner than that, but he’s hoping that he can beat the 4-6 week projection.

I'm hoping our new training staff and HC show that they can be smart with their star players and keep them out when they're injured until they're 100%, especially in a season like this one... I will be extremely disappointed if McC isn't put on IR and misses at least 3-4 games. Don't let him try to rush back, it would be incredibly stupid.

If they say 4 to 6 and we are already out of contention, put him on ice. He doesn’t do us any good to rack up mileage in this waste of a year. Don’t care what we are paying him, I’d rather he be healthy and not worn down for a new QB.

From the team stand point, that makes obvious sense...but what kind of effect would that have on the relationship between him and the coaching staff? You would assume he'd be extremely furious if he could still pay after just a few weeks, and the team places him on IR.  I'm on the same boat of just letting him rest until the end of the year, but not if it'll tarnish the long term relationship between him and the team.

Cot dang it shut the hell up and sit down CMC, no need to wear him down and let this ‘linger for the next 3 years, just sit your ass down and don’t pull a cam Newton just because you want to play. This season is a damn loss anyway, go bang your gf and get ready for 2021

I don’t think they’ll IR him for the year or make him rest but if we are say 0-7 or 0-8 without him, which is very likely, the staff has to know there’s no point. If he’s back healthy and you want to play him, fine but Mike Davis sure as poo better be earning his top 10 RB salary. Split the carries and keep him fresh. There will be no records to achieve this year so splitting time and shutting him down early/with any reoccurrence should be easy.

If he's ready, let him play.  You let your fighter get lazy and he won't be there when you need him.  Mileage doesn't mean anything, look at Adrian Peterson.  Work ethic, mindset, determination mean a lot more and telling a healthy star RB he can't play is going to put a corkscrew in all 3.

Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore are outliers. Not a great example of what actually happens to typical NFL RB's.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
