NFL Passing Leaders

He has outperformed Moore in one game.  I don’t think he is clearly our #1.

Moore in his short career has logged a 1000+ yard season with bad QB play.  Anderson has never achieved that in the NFL.

That’s not intended to knock Anderson as I really like him.  But people put Moore in a comical doghouse around here because on one game

I think Teddy has a lot more rapport with Robby and I also think Anderson has a little more "dog" in him than DJ does. He's also a much more wiley veteran. IMO, he is the #1 WR and has pretty much performed as such. I hope that DJ views this as a challenge and steps up into an even greater role. Take that #1 spot back.

Before the season started I suggested he would finish the season with more than 4000 yards passing and I was routinely laughed out of the thread.  With the WR's we have, and the fact that we are going to be playing from behind most of the time, hes going to have a lot of passing yards.  Doesnt mean hes any good though.

and just as I was give you a beer mug ... i read your last line... :(

Teddy has under-performed a little bit from what I thought he'd do in terms of ball security and throwing some TDs, but I also think that has to do with him and Moore not being on the same page yet and everyone still adjusting to the new offense.

That will certainly improve as the season goes on, and I expect him to keep putting up lots of yards given how poor our defense is and how thin we are.

The boneheaded TO's were extremely disappointing because as a game manager that is precisely what you cannot do. It hurts the team and causes losses(which he was mostly responsible for in Week 2).

We also seem to be having a lot more success rushing the ball in the red zone than passing it, so that accounts for a lot of that disparity in TD passes, IMO.

Err Jake was a better QB than Teddy and him simply being able to throw the ball down the field and get the ball consistently to Moose and Smitty have him as a more dangerous QB than Teddy. fug man Teddy is in the bottom 3rd in INTs and Jake at least had 20+ TDs to go along with his interceptions. Much rather have yolo throws to Moose and Smith than a checkdown for 1 yard to run the clock out at the end of the game lol. Or that 1 yard pass on 3rd and goal where we had to settle for a FG.

Yea Jake would have thrown it into the endzone and it ends like San Diego(ROSARIO DAWSON) that one year to end the game or it ends up liek AZ but one of those is a chance to win the other is a 1 yard pass lol.

Jake and Teddy aren't a great comparison in general. Jake was a gunslinger and Teddy is a game manager. The way they play the game is different.

Gunslingers always trust in their ability to make plays, even if the success percentage is extremely low. They tend to make a lot of mistakes but have short memories.

Game managers are about taking the highest percentage play available, regardless of situation. They limit mistakes and have much longer memories about errors they made.

A better Panthers Teddy comparison would be Beuerlein

Steve was my second favorite Panthers QB of all time.

Yea, poo i wonder if Teddy could ever hope to have a year like 99...still one of the best years for Panther QB ever. Other than that though yea

    • Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.
    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
