Teddy is not as good as a prime Cam.

Cam is not in his prime anymore, today I'll take Teddy as a passer every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

It is pretty close. Teddy wins on completion percentage, passer rating, and has better receivers.

Cam has better offensive line and coaching.

I dunno.

But the narrative here is that somehow Cam is the reason the Patriots beat the Raiders. He isn't. They had to overcome Cam's poor play to win. Even Cam said he had a bad game.

Watch out Igo, speaking truths about Cam here will draw the usual crowd of vultures...

As far as Teddy vs. Cam, I think there are reasonable arguments for each side of the coin there, but Cam if he can stay healthy is the better option right now, just not by a lot. Either way I would not want to rely on Cam or Teddy as my starting QB of the future to build around. Cam doing well in NE's offense doesn't say much; Matt Cassel had a great year too and led them to a 11-5 record. Plus Cam's arm every year since 2016 has gotten worse and worse as the season rolled on. Let's see how Cam looks throwing the ball in the latter half of the season before trashing the team for getting rid of him.

And people need to stop thinking that hatred of the Patriots translates to hatred of Cam. It doesn't. I still like Cam, would've rooted for him to succeed if he went to a different AFC team, but I can't possibly cheer for the Patriots starting QB to do well. I prefer the entire team just becomes a dumpster fire or hovers around .500 obscurity for years. Don't understand those who pretend to be Panthers fans but are rooting for the Patriots. Just silly.

The only time Teddy has had a good OL was last season when he played those 5.5 games with the Saints.

Behind a good OL Teddy has the accuracy and overall awareness to be a very solid QB

You must have missed the second half of the Seahawks game. Teddy is the more consistent short to medium range passer, bit he'll never be able to threaten a defense downfield like Cam. Qualifying your opinion with "as a passer" says it all. It'd be like saying I'll take Derrick Henry over CMC "as a runner". The game allows for more than just one facet.

You should go read the pats board about their thoughts on Cam as a passer... 2nd half of Seahawks game was heavy prevent D. He apparently hasn't looked good at all as a passer in game 1, 3 or the first have of the Seahawks game. 1 good half out of 6 isn't a great start to the season.

Teddy usually doesn’t have enough time to throw it deep.

Teddy has more 20+ yard completions than Cam this season though.

I'm not basing that opinion on stats, I'm basing it off of watching that second half of the Pats vs. the Seahawks. There were several passes completed that Teddy just doesn't have the physical ability to attempt. To his credit, he understands that and he doesn't attempt them but he's definitely physically limited as a passer on an NFL field.

Completing deep passes into a prevent D is impressive. They're trying to get you to checkdown.
