everyone who's been critical of teddy has given him a ton of allowances on this game. it's the people loudly taking up for him that can't admit jesus christ himself couldn't have teleported under that ball in time to catch it

I don't get this kind of hyperbole. DJ himself nearly came down with the throw. I watched the replay about 10 times and honestly not entirely sure how he lost control of the ball. It was well in his hands and then just popped out. I'm not blaming him; it was a great effort to even give himself that chance. But to say it was impossible to catch when Moore honestly should have come down with it after the effort he made to get a hand on it is just silly.

he got one hand on it, stretched fully out, that's how high it was. corralling that is almost impossible.

When it mattered like when Teddy forced a ball to Chicago to end the game?

When it mattered like catching the TD pass that hit him in the hands.  Could have been a completely different game.

The one that lead to points even after the drop or the one that lead to pass interference and more points? Vs the game ending interception thrown towards multiple bears?

Kyle Allen had a better six game start than Teddy.

Well, it wasn’t a good throw.  Which is why Moore had to turn around and attempted a one handed,  left handed catch.

Then the pick at the end it seemed like Teddy just didn’t see the DB play was in zone and ran underneath the route.

would have liked to see DJ make that catch in the end zone today the he missed on the jump.   But DJ played a good game IMO.   The PI in the end zone doesn’t show up on the stat sheet either.

Except he did just that. Got a full grip on it, corraled it into his chest and only then did it strangely pop out of his hand. Watch it again. It's odd to make that kind of play and seemingly do the hard part only to slip out at the last second. Again I'm not mad at Moore. He made a hell of an effort. But at that point he absolutely could have completed the catch.

DJ did a amazing job hauling in the pass.  The ball appeared to be dislodged by his leg as he fell to the ground.

Teddy did a good job getting the pass off under pressure.

It is difficult to know whether TB's ball placement was off or DJ failed to run the appropriate route.

Given more time to gel, I suspect these two may become a very productive duo for the Panthers.

the point is that's a low percentage catch across the board and it didn't have to be

Thank you for saying what I was intimating without the fuel of emotion, Philly.

I'd also like to say, initially on the first throw to DJ in the endzone, I didnt even think Teddy was trying to hit DJ, I thought it was more an attempt to throw over him and get it out of bounds.

    • There are several posters that only post negative at all times.   8 wins is a big jump from 5 and we still have 2 games.  Jaguars have a much more talented roster than us and have underachieved for years.
    • All of this noise is just setting us up to lose Week 18 and proclaim life's not fair. If there's one thing I know in my 30+ years of watching the Hornets and Panthers, is that the bad guy always wins in the end. A team can be falling apart internally but we will still lose to them. A team's fanbase can be extra shitty and cocky and they will just win anyway. It always happens
    • Well even if we took diverging paths getting there...our overall assessment of Shough is the same (bolded) lol so I guess that's what matters.  What you call "playing at a level that looks like a veteran starter" is the same thing I'm referencing when I talk about his poise.  Although I still wonder how truly "bad" of a team the Saints are.  Their defense is middle-of-the-road, and their offense does have some good pieces (Olave, Juwan Johnson) outside of running back which is the position most everyone agrees is relatively plug-and-play.  I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the majority of NFL team's o-lines lol but I'm assuming Saints are not great there, although Shough's pressure % seems to have been quite low (and steadily improving) over the last four weeks (20 -> 16.7 -> 15.0 -> 13.0) so maybe they've been playing better as of late, or perhaps Shough himself deserves credit for that.   Some of the language I'm hearing about Shough, including talking about how he's way above league average in several categories, makes it sound like Shough is having a rookie season on par with like a CJ Stroud who established himself as basically a Top 5-10 QB his rookie season.  Maybe that's on me though, I don't mean to attribute anything to you that I'm sure you don't agree with.
