Top 6? No, he won't go that high in my opinion, unless a team becomes enamored with him. If they do, and they start him immediately. They will be making a mistake. He needs seasoning. He's rare like a steak, let him sit out a while.

The Dolphins drafted Tua #5 overall with no intention of starting him from the get go. Herbert was drafted #6 overall and the Chargers weren't planning to start him until Dr. Nick stabbed Tyrod Taylor in the lung. Word is that had the Chargers not taken Herbert at #6 we wouldn't taken him at #7 and we would've almost certainly let him sit and learn behind Teddy too.

Yep. Very smart by both organizations to do that. Exactly what we'll need to do with Lance if we're lucky enough to take him.

Lance is basically the Jordan Love of this year's draft. Ultimately, Love went #26. I wouldn't be surprised if Lance goes somewhere in the mid-late 1st as well. The Bears would seem like a decent possibility.

Maybe, but I think the Panthers take him. Jordan Love had a pretty bad year last year for Utah State. So, I'm not sure I agree with that sentiment.

My biggest concern with Lance is that he does a lot of work with his legs. Despite all this talk about him running a 4.6 40, he ran a verified 4.92 40 in HS when he was 30 pounds lighter. I just don't think his running will translate at the NFL level and if he can't run I just don't think he's anywhere near ready as a passer and may well never be.

If he opts not to run a 40 prior to the draft, it's one of the biggest draft red flags ever.

Hard for me to argue with you there. Maybe he's gotten better. We'll see my man.

I think Zach Wilson goes ahead of Lance and there’s a possibility he even goes before Fields come draft time

I think the kid from FL really has potential to make a move up the draft charts. 6 of his next 7 games are against what appears to be some pretty whack SEC teams.  But he will be doing it against a 100% "SEC" schedule so it will get a lot of hype so the nation will want him to have the Heisman for the numbers.

but there seems to be no middle ground in the SEC this year.  3 good teams.  Then slop.

I am always skeptical of SEC QB's. Especially from their premier programs.
