Took a look at Cam this year.  This week looked a lot like last week.  So did Week 1.  Week 2/3, however, did not.

edit: week 3 actually did on further review.  So, Week 2 vs SEA, he had a hell of a game.  The others, he seems to struggle on the right side of the field relative to his left.

Now do his last two games as a panther.

No he's not, but he's not exactly worthless either.

As to any suggestion that he might be better than Bridgewater though, Lord no.

well sure thats the joke.

I never thought he was anything other that what he showed himself to be at the end. But we all say here and watch him being propped up as something special.

The same thing was happening to teddy at the beginning of this year, but teddy is absolutely better than kyle. Kyle had CMC for alot of his wins, and Teddy doesnt.

Im really impressed with how teddy looks in a pocket.

Teddy was always an ideal quarterback for the kind of system we run.

Kinda reminds me of Jeff Garcia in some ways. Garcia could look great in a West Coast system but like absolute garbage in anything else.

(Bridgewater doesn't have that weird, circular windup that Garcia did, at least)

Yeah I took another look and even in cams last healthy season 2017, his pass chart looks similar, I think he just favors the left side of the field. Drawing the conclusion because it’s his shoulder, there just isn’t enough evidence there to prove it IMO

Im warming up to the idea of drafting for defense and riding with teddy tbh. If he can do this without CMC, and it looks like our receivers are responding well to Teddy, fug it lets go

My ideal scenario has long been to draft a quarterback and let him sit under Bridgewater for a year, but I'm not real confident about that happening right now.

I think its on both tbh.  But you may be right on the later half, at least if you can't get him better receivers.

Cam was a great talent because of his run threat backed up by a big Arm. Now he has neither and better WRs are not going to help. Look at how great our core is right now with the right QB. That's the difference honestly. Cam has never been accurate enough to use timing plays and make intermediate and short throws consistently.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
