Yeah, numbers are very misleading. It is preconceived notions with bias that are accurate.

Again like my other post said context is needed. I called Cam out several times when he had poor throws/bad decisions in game winning drives. Never said he was some elite 4th quarter guy but he did consistently put the team in positions to win in the 4th q. You know this. Think of it this way. How many times did that 2017 saints playoff game where cam drives the team down the field with PS receivers, throws a ball to funchess in the end zone and he “loses it in the light”? But Cam put us in positions to win.

We only have 2 maybe 3 seasons to judge Bridgewater’s ability in this regard before we decide if we extend him or not. Right now he doesn’t have a good track record. Two awful picks and one terrible throw for a walk in td to DJ.

I think the majority of the fan base, other than a select special few have seen enough of him. To know he's not the answer.

So Aaron Rodgers is trash in the 4th quarter? Baker Mayfield is average in the 4th? And Drew Brees is mediocre in the 4th? And according to that, Jimmy G in the 4th quarter>Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Russel Wilson. Got it. Yeah man. We all would take Baker Mayfield over Aaron Rodgers in the 4th quarter. These numbers seem to be a product of the team more than anything else.

Yes to all of it. Again, preconceived notions. If the saints are losing in the 4th, they lose a lot. They depend on getting ahead early and keeping it.

That's great man. I'll take Aaron Rodgers over Baker Mayfield in a heartbeat in the 4th quarter. Saints also were down a lot for years because their defense was total ass.

I'm taking Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson over Jimmy G. Those guys usually have you ahead, so they don't have to comeback in the 4th.

I would say the same for Teddy, but his ass throwing into triple coverage, double coverage, and taking a sack. Yeah, no. That's on him.

This really doesn’t help the Bridgewater case...especially because we paid him way more then what Cam would have made for one year and both would have given the same results, except one would have had an out vs stuck for 3 years

Which of the following playoff teams would swap QBs for Teddy?

1. Seahawks - No

2. Packers - No

3. Saints - No

4. Eagles - Yes

5. Cardinals - No

6. Buccaneers- No

7. Rams - No

8. Bears - Maybe

1. Steelers - No

2. Chiefs - No

3. Bills - No

4. Titans - No

5. Ravens - No

6. Colts - Yes

7. Browns - Yes

8. Raiders - No

So if we want to be a playoff team then it starts with QB. Teddy seems like a great guy, but so was Ron. Being a great guy isn’t a prerequisite for being the Panthers QB. Two of the biggest A-holes in the game are probably going to meet in the NFC championship game, so yeah give me a jerk who can sling it downfield and audible in crunch time.

Rivers had himself a game yesterday. I don’t know if they would be willing to swap for Teddy at this point.

I think this says it all

lets put it this way. Sean invested in Winston and let Teddy walk.  No matter the reason, or salary, knowing Brees is retiring, he let Teddy walk and is leaving  the most important position  in the hands of Winston

Teddy, I’m sure is a nice person but from what he has shown, he is not a franchise QB.  He is an average Nfl QB, ala Alex Smith,  and with perfection around him wins games.  An elite QB wins games  by himself if necessary.  That’s not Bridgewater and that’s not the Panthers for a long time

he is here to help establish A system and behavior and 63 million is a helluva lot for that

It is what it is until it isn’t

I like how the same people clamoring for a QB are the same people that whined about the Panthers never getting protection for Cam. :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

Or we need protection and a better qb. But if they want to start with getting a better OL and giving teddy a shot next year, that's cool too

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
