Teddy doesn’t care

It’s almost like he’s the type of QB who focuses on the next play or the next game and improving in the process rather than any sort of urgency about getting the job done now and the present.

Not sure if he knows he’s given a free pass this year under this rebuild or what - it may be coming from the top down.

He was deadpan before he came here. Rhule told him after week one right before the week two game to be like what you are describing and bring that energy. You want to play someone blame Rhule.

I wouldn't care what my coach told me, no way in hell you would catch me smiling or laughing when things are not going well during a game or even right after the game.

Dont get me wrong, I don't think he doesn't want to win, I definitely think he does, but it's not as important to him as actually playing is.  He's thankful to be out there, and I get that and appreciate that.  And that attitude is fine for your supporting cast, but it's not what you want in a franchise QB.  Most franchise QBs need to be assholes to some degree, or at least know when to be one to lead their team to wins.  I think Teddy wants to win and is competitive, but that's not what drives him.

It's why I loved Cam, bc I was the same way when I played competitively.  And no, not everyone has to be as expressive to prove they are competitive, but Teddy sitting down with Brees and them in the middle of a potential GW drive and yucking jt up with them is not a guy who is obsessively driven by winning.

That one deserves a pass he literally was falling onto the bench and just decided to go for it since it was their QB's. He sat there a little too long though.

I would give him a pass there if it were an isolated incident but the body of work and the “we’ll get em next time” attitude makes me think it just is who he is

We are cursed with head towels, and offbeat fashion senses, and an absolute winning mentality.

We will never recover.

Thanks Cam

This fan base used to have major problems with Cam’s ultra competitiveness. I remember against the Saints some years back Cam was taunting them while they exited the locker rooms or something to that effect and this place was up in arms about it.

Now our QB chums it up with his old pals mid-game and barely gets a mention.

Weird times.

Happy to play the game

Feel like he doesn’t care about wins or losses - he just enjoys playing. You can tell by his interviews and the way he speaks about the teams he has played for.

it’s like he just wants to be known as a guy who loves football rather than someone who loves winning. We need WINS

I guess I just don’t understand the point of casting aspersions on Teddy and his desire to win. To me, saying he doesn’t care about winning cause he jokes on the sidelines is the same as those people who early on said Cam was a poor leader cause he would “pout on the bench” by himself with the towel on his head or whatever. Just trivial drama and a deflection from the real issues...unless you think that’s the root of Teddy’s problems, and that him having a stronger desire to win is gonna turn him into a franchise QB.

Personally I don’t really care about the optics...I care about the results, and Teddy didn’t produce today.

Hard to produce when your guard is being shoved into your face every snap.
