Greg Little was benched

I was absolutely on the bandwagon LOL. But this game sealed the deal, it was rough. I still feel LG is an even bigger need unfortunately.

Would love to see us signing a good LG and draft a C.

Try his ass there.  Might as well try to get something out of him since Hurney was hell bent on getting him.

I'm actually glad he was benched...can you believe back then, Rivera let Byron Bell get whooped like a rag doll by Mario Williams and never sat Bell down?!?!

And this was after he got whooped badly by Seattle DE's earlier that season, I believe

Regarding the play in contention, I'll repeat what I said before.

Scheme wise, it wasn't entirely his fault. That said, his awareness is severely lacking. And no matter what your responsibility is on that play, standing there touching nobody, looking confused and watching one of your teammates block while a defender runs right by you without you even checking in that direction makes you look like a complete moron.

I'd add this is something I've seen in Little several times. If nobody engages him right off the bat, he doesn't know what to do. It's like he's expecting a defender to run right at him every play so he can block him.

Reminds me of the guy who tells everybody he's a karate student but doesn't know what to do if you don't come at him the exact same way they did in class.

Sounds like Giants are open to trading Kevin Zeitler, not sure if he’s a LG or RG. Is he good anymore? He’s 30, so he should have a couple of good years left. I like the idea of bringing in an established LG and draft a C and potentially a LT.

Not sure about Zeitler, but since it'd be pretty difficult to rebuild 80% of an offensive line in a single offseason, we probably do need at least one short-term veteran to kind of help bring the young guys up to speed.

My vote would be for that to be a center.

Little has greatly improved his run blocking I'd like to see him get a shot at LG I think he could make a solid/elite guard.

I don't see Greg Little becoming an elite anything.

He might be a serviceable interior lineman, but that's about all I'd hope for.

He can't keep the edge at T that's clear, you never know he has seriously improved in run blocking.... serviceable on the interior is more than we have atm.

Still gotta pass block on the interior too though.

My concern there would be that he'd be susceptible to stunts. Mentioned above that if there's not somebody right in front of him, he doesn't know what to do. He just stands there looking confused.

The knock on him coming out was he had trouble picking up blocking schemes (and had questionable athleticism) If we got a great C he could wind up doing well.

You can't honestly think he would be worse than Reed.

No, but "better than Reed" is way too low a bar.

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
