Lots of positives from tonight's game

1. DL absolutely balled the fug out, against an elite OL. 5 sacks today. Packers had only allowed 14 sacks through the first 13 games...

2. Defensive adjustments. Snow adjust after the disastrous first 3 drives and the D dominated Rodgers and that elite offense for the rest of the game. A lot of that was the DL stepping up but it was also very well called and the secondary and LBers stepped up there too.

3. Head coaching decisions. After some poor time management in recent weeks and some other head scratcher decisions, Rhule made up for it today at the end of the game. 100% the right decision to kick the quick field goal there and get to use the two minute warning to get the ball back. Obviously Teddy couldn't pull off a game tying drive there, but our future QB (Wilson? Lance?) might be able to, and Rhule's decision there (which most HC's do not make) would give him the chance to.

4.  Draft position in tact. And Aints still playing catchup for the #1 seed (if they lose to the Chiefs, which is likely, the Packers would need to lose out for the Aints to get the 1 seed, unlikely).

All in all, a great game for this young, rebuilding team.

Encouraging signs of life while still losing. That's just about the best damn outcome for a 2020 Panthers game. Reminds me of those early 2000s Chargers teams that were in every game and scrapping, but still losing. Then they got Rivers and became a perennial playoff team overnight.

    • It was a team loss, because it's a team game.  I even admitted so in the above post.  That does not deflect or shield a player or players for their role in that loss. Horn's penalty and Hubbard's fumble were super costly.   What was your intent on starting this thread with an All-22 pass play?  Did you honestly think there would be no controversy around Bryce?  Then go on to say if anyone disagrees they are 100% anti-Bryce.  Really?  I've stated over and over again my position on Bryce.  At this point, he's not the pre-benching '24 Bryce, that guy is largely gone.  However, his ceiling is game manager level for like 80% of his outings, that being middling...10% really good and 10% awful.  That's not my idea of a franchise QB.  The notion that we just have to maximize everything around him to nudge him above game manager level is not only unrealistic, but one sided...literally.  The defense has taken a back seat as a priority on this team, yet we complain about it.  How many die hard NFL fans can name anyone on our defense outside of Brown and Horn?  Heck most fair weather Panthers fan couldn't either.
    • People have genuinely ignored the fact that Horn is having a very underwhelming season overall. The INT's are way up but a lot of the other metrics have not been very kind. He has had a disappointing year overall by his standards.
    • their pass defense is good but not that good.  they are giving up on average 198 yards passing per gamd which is higher than byoungs average per game.  their pass defense is basically the same as the panthers pass d
