It's for the greater good!  We must lose out, we have hope.

We always lose out. The Panthers' season ends after Halloween every year. I don't get why people still enjoy this. One high pick won't mask the failings of the front office, coaching staff, linebackers, secondary, quarterbacks and offensive line. You and I both know they'll be 0-14, 1-13, 2-12 or 3-11 next year and we'll be back to this again, riding a minimum six-game losing streak.

I, for the first time in about 5 years, feel like this isn't going to be the case moving forward.  It's not worth it to win one more single game this year....ask the Jets and their fans.

But aren’t you embarrassed of being 2-22 in the second half of the season since the start of 2018? If whoever we draft does well, Rhule will just hold them out next December bc of a hangnail while we’re 2-12.

You gonna raise a banner for being 4-20?

The losing has a purpose, helping our long term goals. If we were a 7 win team, sure it would be great to win but we aren't. We are a very bad 4 win team with LOTS of roster holes to fill.

I’m not because this will get us a new QB to really get behind after the Cam Era. This is the real reset for the franchise. No more Ron leftovers. No more Hurney. This is going to be a different franchise now. A different team. How many winning seasons have the Panthers had, period? Aren’t you tired of that? It’s time to start building for long term success.

On a personal level, no.  As a fan, yes but what else did you expect the last two years?

I don't like the Panthers losing, but really the team has absolutely nothing to gain by winning either of the last two games.

I am with you, I hate that the franchise has sucked Jingle Bells the last three years.....but I think we are seeing progress.  If these games would make a difference I'd be all for wins....they don't.  They will only cost us the chance at a top tier QB who can make this team better.  We need that!

We’re three or four years away from even being a 7-win team. Maybe five, six or seven years away. Tanking every season for a good draft pick is a waste of time because your good players you strategically hold out every winter will either leave in free agency and join a team that tries to win, or you’ll have to overpay them to stay.

What’s Sewell gonna do? Protect Teddy and buy time to throw the ball in the stands again on third and goal?

Whats Trask/Wilson gonna do? Fight off getting sacked and throw it 50 times, have a decent year and get benched in December to maintain the losing streak?

A high draft pick isn’t enough to fix what ails this team. One would hope that getting Teddy off the field would help, but the culture of accepting losing is already ingrained in the franchise. Rhule is no different than Rivera. He just gets you close, one-score losses just like 2011 Rivera  — and I’ve yet to see anything proving he’s even as good as Rivera aside from blind optimism.

Have you watched what kind of QB and personnel the man has had to work with?

He may not wind up being a good or great NFL coach, but he isn't Rivera that's for damn sure!

For the sake of comparison, Rivera had a worse defensive line, line backing corps (TD/Beason gone after week 2) and secondary than Rhule and he won more games.

As for the QB, that’s a bed the owner, GM, coach and OC made and it’s one they regret if they have any sense. There are lots of holes on the roster but even more holes when you purposely bench your best players every winter so you can tank for a player you hope will be good enough to purposely bench the next winter.

I can’t share in this optimism because I have no faith in any of the people who are tasked with this franchise reset. Tepper has done nothing to impress me aside from getting an MLS team. Rhule has done nothing at all aside from  rampant dishonesty and clock management that would make 2011 Rivera blush.

The thing with a reset is you can be better than you were before, but you can also be far worse than you were before. Right now, they’re damn sure not better and I simply can’t have this optimism that anything will change until they prove it. I don’t buy the grifting.
