Person this morning: Rhule looking more likely to coach Senior Bowl, and Brady's best chance to end up is in

I don't think Brady is even close to being ready as an NFL head coach.  That might be okay in the right spot, but I highly doubt Houston and Atlanta are going to be patient enough to let him learn on the job over a couple of years.

Atlanta could really be a minefield for him.  Rhule came in somewhere between during and after the roster purge.  He saw it, but he didn't have much to do with it.  Ryan and Julio are going to be in Atlanta when Brady or somebody else gets there, and depending on Ryan and Julio's intentions beyond next year, that could be ugly. 

Not saying the Falcons won't want him, but it just seems like a recipe for disaster.  Houston is a better situation (somehow and despite themselves) and the Chargers are probably the best.

It can’t hurt, you’d have access to a lot of top prospects. Herbert was the MVP last year. It’s too bad we didn’t coach the 2019 one because there were a ton of good/great OL there who went after Little.

I hope that we get to coach the team. There will be a ton of OL there and guys like Trask, Newman, Wilson (DT), Basham (DE) and a few WRs. OL include Eichenberg, Banks, Jenkins, Smith, Humphrey and Dickerson are all likely 1-3 (maybe 4) round picks and a bunch more 3-6 round tackles/IOL.

Lots of other talent there as well. Look at last year’s game: Chinn, Pride, Herbert, Pittman Jr, Aiyuk, Charlton, Hurts a bunch more I have no idea how well they did. We took Chinn, Pride and grabbed Charlton as an UDFA.

I do believe that there’s never been a sought after coordinator that hasn’t done well as a head coach.

What has Brady done so far that shows you that he will be a good NFL head coach? I look at Rhule and he’s taken over two college programs and turned them around. He’s had plenty of experience that gave me confidence of doing well building an NFL team. I’m sorry, but I haven’t seen anything so far out of Brady to show me he can build a team and be a good coach. Be a good OC? Yes, even in his limited experiences you could argue he was going to be a good OC.

It’s a big risk for a team to take and not a certainty he’ll be good. He’s got way less experience than say McVay and it’s not close. If people thought McVay was a risky choice, Brady is way, way more risky. People get hot for a variety of reasons, but Brady has only one year of real coordinator experience and that was this year.

Because our offense wasn't top flight in his first season that had NO mini camps. No preseason. Where the oline struggled to find consistency and stay healthy. An offense that was missing it's center piece in CMC? 

Brady has proven he's a good coach. The only ones saying he isn't is Panther fans whom were/are disappointed from a season where there were no real expectations as it was a first year of a total rebuild of the team. 

So you'd rather sit there and say he won't be a good head coach based on the fact he hasn't been one.  Damn, then there would never ever be any good head coaches.

Ignorance? Proof that he’s not a good coach? Did you read anything?

You are making a huge leap that he’ll automatically be a good HEAD (capitalizing it do it’s clear) coach because he’s been an OC for 1 year at any level. Being a HEAD coach is a lot different than being an OC and Brady’s only done that one year. McVay was an OC for 3 years and was in the NFL for 7 years before being a HC and he was considered green. Rhule was considered a risk and he’d been a head coach at two college programs and turned both around in a short time.

Brady has been in the NFL two years and been an OC at any level for one year. Has he been involved in recruiting or player development? Has he hired another coach? He thought Teddy would be a good QB and every draft pick was on defense so was Brady even involved in the draft?

You are being ignorant in thinking he can’t possibly fail is the same as saying he hasn’t done well. It’s amazing that you want proof he can’t be a HEAD coach but you haven’t provided anything showing that he can be a head coach. Rhule was risky because he did it in college. McVay was a risk because he was young and inexperienced as a head coach. That said both of them had a ton more experience than Brady and had things to point to that hinted at success.

Sorry, I’m not being a negative Nelly acting like Brady sucks. I’m just being realistic that Brady’s done nothing so far to show he will be a good HEAD coach. Doesn’t mean he can’t be and I never said that but I think you are wrong to say he definitely will be. I’d honestly say it’s more likely he won’t have success because he hasn’t even participated in a full off-season and hadn’t even had experience with offensive rookies. Look at his offense, not a single rookie with a real impact. I think he’ll struggle as a HEAD coach if he gets the job this year more than if he was an OC for two more years. Simple as that.

Even if Brady doesn't know them though, Fontenot might. Heck, Fontenot and Brady might even be able to use connections through Sean Payton to reach out to some people.

Payton isn't likely to help a division rival. If Brady is going to need to lean on Payton he better go to an AFC or at the very least a non-divisional NFC team.

I can't recall specific examples but I seem to recall some teams coming away from drafts with good mid-round picks who played at the Senior Bowl after their staff coached the game.

Slow down tiger. Brady only has one year of NFL experience as a leader on a team. None of have any idea if Brady can coach players at the level of HC and to be fair I don’t think the team interviewing him know either. Otherwise, he would have been hired by now.
