Trade a 1st for Jordan Love? ARTICLE: Aaron Rodgers wants clarity

Darnold will probably fetch a 3rd....maybe a late 2nd. I'd toss that draft pick out for him waaaaaaay before Love.

Now, I do think Love can be a good starting QB in the league, he just needs time. When he came out last year, that was the deal with him - patience.....and not a year patience. I don't care that he was the 3rd stringer last year, bc at one point Goff was too.

If the asking price was a third round pick...I would maybe consider it, but even then, I still want Darnold first and foremost of all young QBs that need a change of scenery.

Your math is solid, BUT, what about a second and next year's 2nd (assuming they'd go for it)? We apparently "showed strong interest" in him last year.

I don't really think I'd trade one second rounder for him, much less two.

The huddle man...

"Let's trade this year's and next year's second for Jordan Love!"

But also

"Matt Stafford sucks, I wouldnt trade anymore than a 3rd for him and it would have to include them taking Bridgewater!!!!"

My goodness.

Not advocating for it, just doing the math. 2 second round picks (spread out) for a #26 pic, is more realistic than #8, as OP mentioned.

I honestly hope we never pick this early again, and don't want to waste it.

    • Yeah, Walker from Wes and Walker radio show said something about this trade went through but Mark Williams couldn't pass a physical. I just shook my head. lol
    • UNC's football relevance has always basically been, "Hey, remember how great our basketball program is?" To extent that has worked but they have never been able to capitalize on that towards being a legit ACC power. The closest was Mack Brown 1.0 and that was stopped by prime Bowden FSU. TBH, they should have utilized all these resources they just poured into Belichick into, IDK, a legit college football coach? This is one of the more insane uses of that kind of money I have seen in CFB, which is no stranger to insane, irresponsible uses of money. The SEC and Big Ten have already shot themselves in the foot. The model they are operating on only works if TV revenues continue to go up. Well, demographics aren't working in their favor. Economics either, TBH. The NIL didn't change very much, if you notice. The haves still have and the have nots don't. The only difference between pre-NIL and NIL was the money being below the table and above it. College athletics has never at any point been about fairness. It's the most dramatically unequal system in all US atheltics. My only hope is that the collapse is swift, dramatic and most importantly SOON. I would like to see the rebuilding of this all to something closer to what it was 40-50 years ago. Regional and not such money grubbing nonsense.
    • Meh Dalton looks washed. He was good for at least 1 entertaining game a year but Im not sure he even has one of those left at this point. His game style and old age hasn't been a good combo IMO.  Not going to compare him to Hooker because Hooker is another longshot to ever be worth a #2 spot. At least he isn't Plummer I guess. Young better stay healthy or they could go backwards in wins with those 2 options this year.
