I don't see it that way. Caserio walked into a situation that was already nuclear.

Reasonable, and what Breer said here makes me wonder if he believes we'll do that.

I know we're "in on every deal" but I don't really want us to be "in on" Darnold, and definitely not on Wentz.

I am happy we are in on those deals. What better way to test the market out? I'd rather call and find out they want some ridiculous price than find out on Twatter or TV that you could have improved for a much cheaper price than you ever thought.

I get that, and I agree with investigating all possibilities.

I just really don't wanna see us do either of those trades.

Understandable. I am just glad to have a front office that seems proactive. 

TBD if they end up making great deals or not. I will say that I am very encouraged to see how close we apparently were to getting Matt Stafford at a very reasonable price.

Ultimately I hope the asking price to move these guys gets so ludicrous that everyone decides it's best just to stick with current QB, at least for this year.  Who does that help in the draft?  The Panthers.  If the draft order stays as is, we should be a lock to pick one of the 'big 4' without having to move up ourselves.

It's not Marty.

No idea how good Fitterer will (or won't) be, but the fact that we're not going into yet another offseason with Marty at the helm feels like a reason for optimism.

      Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.

      I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.

      I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
