I suspect the Panthers will be willing to get quite creative (including emerging pass rushing force Brian Burns in any package may be even more attractive than McCaffrey)

Yeah but Mr Scot of the carolinahuddle has been sticking his Dorito crusted fingers in his ears and screaming emphatically that we have no chance so this cannot be true

Nah, I think it's possible. Though gun to my head, I don't think he'll be traded. And even this article admits there are people with better resources to do the trade than us.

As to LaCanfora, he's very hit or miss. He was pretty spot on during the Cam Newton saga but was way off more recently in some of his reporting on the GM search.

This is probably one of those cases where his reliability is judged by whether he's saying what you want to hear. Even David Newton becomes reliable under those circumstances.

I use to think that you couldn't buy a championship in the NFL with all the players required and salary cap, but the Bucs pretty much just did this so I guess it is doable now.  Tepper is ready to make a splash and we've all been waiting on this for years.  Take a seat and grab some popcorn because we are about to see the aggressive Panthers that we've all dreamt about and let's see how it plays out in real life.

I certainly wouldn't want to give up Burns and/or CMC, but I'd understand it if we were able to land Watson. It may not be a popular notion, but at some point you have to say that it's much easier to replace CMC or Burns than it is to trade for a proven franchise caliber QB like Watson who is just beginning his prime (which has never happened).

You've gotta give something to get something, unless someone's just being generous.

La Canfora is literally the worst of the worst when it comes to NFL news.  His sources are him piggybacking on other reports he reads, I would not take anything he says seriously nor do I understand why he still has a job.  In fact when he reports something the opposite is more likely to occur.  He’s the Bob Nightengale of the NFL beat.

Even if you think La Canfora is off his rocker, he really isn't the only one who has these beliefs about Tepper. Others have alluded to it, and have even referenced things Tepper had said. La Canfora has just been the most Candid.

    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
