Wouldn't mind that, and we'd be doing so with a better talent evaluator running the process.

This free agency period--with the reduced cap and elite names wanting fair market value--should leave quite a few talented players lying around on week 2.  I think we could find a few OL that way--maybe a DT--maybe even a LB.

. In on every deal is something an idiot says.

That kinda bothered me too.  Not sure it was meant literally--but who knows?  We know they went after Stafford hard, no signs we went after Wentz (unless I missed a memo).  No rumblings about the possibility of Minshew, etc.I really do not know what that meant.

Tell me if this sounds logical:

In all probability, we are staying with TB unless we trade away multiple first rounders and maybe a player or two.

I do not see sitting at #8 a plan to bring in a QB.  This is one of those years, when QBs are on the move--like musical chairs--and if you are not aggressive, you are standing alone when the music stops.

There are plenty of deals to not be in on. Like Wentz fixes anything at QB for us regardless of price? Just not a trust building statement.

We will see but I am uneasy with this current situation. I think the next 3 months will prove plenty, just not sure I am going to like it.

I don't mind being in on every deal. "In on every deal" doesn't necessarily mean actively competing in every deal. "In" could simply mean reaching out to check the temperature. It never hurts to ask.

The point being, there is no short term viable option to fix the oline and I would prefer we have all our picks to accomplish that.

Frankly if Watson happens we would be better off with FA to fill that hole.

And all that cap space?

We do have other people to retain too and Watson's deal is an albatross.

And there is still no indication Houston wants to trade him.

And Moton getting extended may not happen.

People act like our O-Line was the worst line in the NFL last year or something.  I seem to remember a 3 or 4 game stretch last year where we did not give up one single sack.  We will have one anchor with Moton at T, there are options to be had out there to bolster the rest of it.  Personally, I don't think the OL situation is as bad as some around here make it out to be.

We still seem to struggle with drafting oline.

Our new GM came from Seattle who struggles there too.

A lithe QB with an injury history with an experimental approach at best to an oline is not a recipe for success.

We are not even certain we can keep Moton and Paradis would be our next "best" olineman which says little.

You Watson proponents seem to think he is the only key piece we need.

Like it or not we are years away from being consistently competitive so frankly why the frenzy now when something else may open up down the road that is less expensive?

I know Watson is tantalizing.

But after giving up multiple picks and possibly defensive starters, how long does it take to replenish a cupboard that is sparse to begin with?

LOL we are not "years away" from being competitive.  We lost 7 or 8 one score games last season.  We were in nearly every single game to the very end.  Our main problem last year was a pansy, scared QB who was afraid to push the ball down the field at all times.  We replace Teddy with Deshaun last year, with the same team, and we probably win 10 games at least.

At this point, I'm not so sure I'm opposed to trading for GM, and just outright cutting Teddy.  Really don't want to mortgage the future on a player in this draft not named Trevor.

Don't want Teddy starting again and us eeking out 7 wins while pissing off the fans even further.

Shame.  Shame.  Shame.
