I don’t even blame reimer there. Our shooters didn’t hit open marks 2 times in a row, Necas fumbled the puck and all rod had to do was put Seabass on the ice and he didn’t.

I don’t so much blame Reimer but he’s looked pedestrian and average lately; JAGish. I’d rather roll the dice with Ned and Mrazek. Can’t be much worse.

I mean with Trocheck, Turbo and Mrazek out your essentially down 3 of your 6 most vital players.

We need Tro back any way you look at it. I’m sorry 3rd line ain’t cutting it right now and fourth is almost no exinsistant. I hope Rod scrambles the lines if we don’t have Tro for the next few games. Put some of the young bloods up with the big boys.

Fourth line was grinding tonight TBH, they played hard.

We definitely aren't as complete as we could be, and even then I am still worried about this team when it comes to playing other physical teams.  The BJs aren't the Bruins, but they are probably the most physical team in our "division" this year.

I swear to God we really need a new HC. We have talent on this team but Rod needs to go.

Does he make some questionable decisions? Sure. Has he had his share of boneheaded moves that has cost the team games? Absolutely. But, and let me be completely unequivocal here, is one of, if not, the best coaches in the league.

His winning percentage is HOF level right now. In 3 years, he has built this team into one of the league's top contenders and already has an ECF appearance under his belt. He has a winning playoff record. And he has done it all without top end talent at the most important position in the sport.

We have a ton of talented players on our roster right now. But, this team has been churned quite a bit from the team he inherited and he has been a big part of that process. RBA put the system in place that allowed their talent to shine. He trained them to have the stamina to go toe to toe with the best of the best. His team's might get out muscled, but they'll never be out skated or outworked.

Discipline, motivation and a cerebral understanding of the game are inherent qualities of a coach. Feel for the game, lineup decisions, challenges, etc; that stuff comes with experience, imo.

Give him some time, the ride has already been fun as hell. The destination might be somewhere this franchise has never been before.

Only if you wear these the rest of the season.

Do the name/numbers and captain letters in tattoo font. Put an eagle head on one arm and barbed wire on the other. Puka necklace on the collar. Add a rust colored belt.

All of the sudden, The Columbus Blue Jorts have the top selling merchandise, guaranteed!

And yet when it counts he make bone head decision on the roster that loses us games. Like right now riding Reimer and not starting Ned. If Ned doesn't start 11 games we are going to lose him to FA including both our other goalies. Ned had the hot hand yet he completely ignored it just like last year in the playoffs when he gave it away doing the same thing. Also he refuses to let Aho get the time he deserves. He rather play someone else for two quarters and let the team get up on us 2 goals. The only reason he has HOF wins as you say is because our team has Stanley Cup level talent on the wings and center. It's why when those guys get hurt his decisions are so glaring.

Bro we're top 4 in the league with an insanely young team with questionable (on paper) goaltending, missing Mrazek pretty much the whole year, missing Teuvo most of the year and missing Trocheck recently... Rod has done an incredible job here. We need to get healthy and a few more pieces on the roster (legit starting goaltender, another top 6 scoring winger) but otherwise we're in great shape.

I expect Mrazek to travel with us this trip.

Right on queue. Apparently both Mrazek and Tro will travel according to Michael in replys.  Tro not likely to play though. Not sure if that implies Mrazek will or not but at least they are traveling.

    • How did this “innovative” narrative start with Canales? Just because he’s young? He truly wants to run the ball and nothing Tampa did last year was all that creative. Mike Evans ability to win 1 on 1 does wonders for an offense as a whole
    • Initially, I wanted Stroud but I thought the trade up meant that, whoever they chose, it was for a reason.  There was no pressure to do anything for the entire scouting team to do other than investigate every aspect of the top 3 candidates.  Stroud had his question marks, and I think it is possible that he falters this year.  Bryce had a much worse situation here in Carolina because we neglected the OL, traded our #1 WR, did not pick WRs well in the draft, traded our pro bowl RB, and seem to disregard the TE position altogether.  Bozeman was not a good fit and we relied on an improved OL in 2022 to suggest that we were set there when we were far from it.  Fitterer had no vision, no grasp of talent, and everyone in the front office and on the coaching staff were pretending to be gurus.  Our coaching staff was a group of men earning a lifetime achievement paycheck.  It all goes back to the years of neglect for the OL.  My theory?  If Stroud had come to Carolina, he would be as mocked and ridiculed as Bryce Young.   No, he does not have a cannon.  Chad Pennington was a weak-armed QB who had success and would have been even better if it were not for injuries.  Smarts is important at QB, and so are mechanics.  Before you can address Young's mechanics, he needs an OL, Running game, and weapons. We were not really able to run play action from under center for a few reasons--play action is not effective when you have to pass the ball--other than that, the QB must turn his back to the LOS for about 1.5 seconds.  When the QB has less than 2.5 seconds to pass the ball, that eliminates that part of the play book.  Heck, even the run option is minimized when there is immediate facial pressure.  SO those who want to talk about happy feet, bouncing, etc--they are symptoms of the problem, not the problem.  A weak arm?  Well, Young's arm is between Chad Pennington and Joe Montana--closer to Joe.  His are is not as weak as some think--but he has issues with the deep ball. When you are reacting to the defense and quickly have to pass, then that takes away the strength because you don't have the base to get power behind it.  I still wish we had taken Stroud, but we have Young and if you toss him out before giving him support, you are not wise, unsmart, not unfoolish, and rather elite in your failure to attain mediocrity.  Expect growth.  How much? Nobody knows.
