The dumb [Aldon Smith]

Seahawks LB Aldon Smith is wanted for second degree battery that allegedly occurred around New Orleans on April 17.

That date was only 48 hours after Smith signed a one-year deal with Seattle. The alleged incident occurred at the French Press Coffee House in Chalmette, Louisiana, where Smith has relatives at. It's a developing story that could quickly lead to the Seahawks cutting ties with him prior to the draft.

Why do ball players keep getting chance after chance? If we did what these thugs do, we’d be fired on the spot.

How many people do you know who have gotten fired for something they did outside of work?

Unless the story goes viral or you can't afford bond, your current employer would never even find out about a simple assault charge.

Jay Glazer gave his blessing and told everyone how much Smith changed..... This is what many people need to learn, for some people they never change. Smith should have been in the HOF, he had that type of skill set.

Most people like that have been told their entire lives that they are never gonna change. That they can't change. Learning that is what got them to where they are in the first place.

Change is always possible.

Hell, cops have a far higher rate of domestic violence charges than athletes. And that is despite the victims' reluctance to report because the perpetrator is a cop. And they never get fired.

Most celebs/athletes face more severe consequences outside of the courtroom than a Joe Blow down the street, because nobody knows who Joe Blow is.

Inside the courtroom is a different story.

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
