really liked most of the NYers, but man, I had to remind them that people were not deaf

I know right?  I guess its because they have to talk over the traffic.

Sam is no more a NYer type than I’m like Salma Hayek or a Song Girl.

Yeah.  He really comes off as a genuine surfer dude a little.

On Salma Hayek, yeah well, I really like her. Pinault is a lucky lucky man.

Sam lived in Morristown, NJ which is one of the most beautiful towns in the United States --- needless to say, lots of trees there.

Hey, I didn't know that.  Not sure why he says it reminds him of home.  Maybe he's just being nice.

Players talk bs to the media, its not new. He is definitely just being nice and trying to fit in. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Its just an odd/specific compliment.  He said something to that affect in Panthers Confidential too.

If I was just BSing I'd say, hey its a cool town, or its a nice city... not...it reminds me of home.

No idea, maybe it does remind him of home, but I dont know in what way. The question might have needed a follow up, like in what way does Charlotte remind you of your hometown?

Nahhh, not that curious.  I much prefer the pressers focus on the football.  I found it interesting that he's in the room watching Drew Brees and Teddy run the offense.  That he's talking to Robby, and Robby will be ready.

That he wants to win every rep.  That's what I felt missing last year, that drive to win.  Cam wore it on his sleeve.  Sigh.

If Charlotte reminds him of home, that's great, I want him to feel at home.  But I just don't care about his couch situation.

Believe me, you could be living in a paradise, but if it’s not “home”......your heart will always long to go back.

Well David Newton sucks. I am not sure how he still has a job, maybe blackmail?

Yeah, its like he's tired of talking about football.  He needs to be a movie or restaurant critic or go on the lifestyle/living reporting beat.  Who gives a fug about Darnold's couch?

In other words :

I moved from a Southern California beach town, surrounded by agriculture, to middle Tennessee.  I focused on the similarities when I moved here, you can always find them, I’m surrounded by agriculture here as I was back home, small town mentality is the same.

You focus on that to be happy.

    • If Bryce plays like last year, we will be picking high and can move on.  But I am curious to see how people on here are when he sees success and becomes the guy, if he does. It's almost like people want him to fail. He's got that Panther jersey on and a good attitude. I am rooting for him, as you should.  Last year the coaching, OL, and weapons were abysmal, and it put him in a tough spot. He did not play well either, but we saw glimpses, and its a full team sport. I choose to go into this year excited under a fresh new regime and a top prospect from 365 days ago at the helm with new OL and weapons. Whatever happens, happens. Let's have some fun with it.
    • Maybe. You know he wanted that OC gig each time, I believe the last time they even stated he interviewed for the role. This was during the whole youth movement that mccvay started as well.  Honestly I was hoping Seattle would have cut ties with pete, he would have been great here in a top mentor role. I don't think its talked about enough, they did Pete wrong. He made them a great NFL team for the first time in their history and gave them a SB. He's still in great shape by all reports and they just decided to go young. They even removed most of his pictures and quotes in the building. Sorta like what the pats did to bill, but waay worse.  I guess I have too much loyalty for the new times, no chance either should been to out for retirement..
