Uggggh...

We needed a NBA big, not a Plumtree.  Smh...

He is a decent player so gives us flexibility in this draft…2 years on his deal at 8 mill per.  We aren’t done at center.

Took on salary for 37 which could be an interesting pick with the depth in this draft

He is basically replacing Cody Zeller for much cheaper and we upgraded our second round pick in the process.

Still not used to the Hornets making smart moves like this.

Yeah and he's an upgrade to Zeller while being cheaper. Granted not by huge amounts, although he's infinitely more athletic, but still an upgrade.

Best part of the trade is the 2nd round pick move up.. Plummlee is a cheap backup so it doesn't hurt us..

I know you like Barnes but more than Jalen Suggs?  Amazed with that pick.  Suggs to me will be an all star.  Suggs is a complete player.

I came around on this move.  Mitch was next level all day yesterday.  That draft cemented the turnaround.  Plumlee, to his credit, had a really good season last year and made some impressive plays, and he has always by far been the best among those brothers...  I just didn't like adding salary when taking on a big who still can't space the floor or do much on the perimeter defensively, but he is indeed much better than the centers we've played for the last few years.  He is efficient at what he does, and if we can somehow get Kai as the starter sooner than later and Plumlee coming in as the backup, this was incredible.

Really underrated move. Perhaps Charlotte could've found a better opportunity to take on salary for a better asset BUT Plumlee is a useful rotational big.

Moving up to pick 37 from 57 was sweet. JT Thor is a nice young upside play too.

If Plumlee is the starting center...this deal is less fun. Based on our draft, cap and roster spots, it's highly possible Charlotte is done adding bigs.

    • At the moment? Absolutely not. Maybe if they drop the next three in a row and go into the deadline at 3-6 I can see an argument to be made to move Rico as he's on a 1yr deal. I'd rather keep Chuba's contract though and roll with ETN + JB next season. The team will have plenty of time to see how JB is looking going into the offseason a year-plus after his surgery to know whether or not they need to plan for another direction.
    • I forgot to mention my thoughts on the rushing grade! 😮 He ran his ass off both weeks. I can't remember the stat offhand but didn't he have something crazy like 120+ yards after contact vs. Dallas? Against Miami he had lanes as wide as the entirety of I-95 to run through which is why his rushing grade wasn't as high as this week's. He's ran like a man possessed and going to earn himself some money in the offseason.
    • I'm not sure how much I'm changing mid year, especially when we are seeing some success.    Most Pass Rushers are physically gifted. Scheme and personnel help, but you gotta have the Jimmys and Joes, especially at that position.    We will likely lose games when the other team can throw for 400 yards, and has multiple high level receivers, but I think at this point in the development of our franchise, we have to be ok with that. You can't address every single issue at once. Really looks like we have plugged some holes on offense, and definitely in run defense. In the next draft, if we hit on a CB, an ILB and a Pass rusher, we will be pretty dangerous.
