If Rhule cuts him, and I like Slye as a person but Rhule will gain major major points.

And pick up who exactly?  I love everyone calling for Slye's head, buy top tier kickers are not just out there waiting to be signed.

No kicker is 100%. I personally love his power.

Butler > Gano. Hurney messed up.

Slye > Gano+ high salary

He misses one out of every three kicks. Even gano was not that bad. Seriously almost any other option would be better.

Slye did NOT look good today.   At the point I'm worried that the PAT is going to hit the upright,  that's a problem.  I think one of his FG was a gift from the refs.

We need to keep our options open, because I'm beginning to wonder if Slye is the guy.

he never looks good

btw...he is obviously capable of making those 60+ ones, but he never does in games

i say he is a gagger...hope he proves me wrong

Gano missed 1 FG last season for the Giants. just saying.  I agree about Gano being overpaid though.

FYI, Crosby and Myers were both 100%.

Off the top of their heads, can anyone account for how many games we lost due to Slye's misses?  I'm not talking about just potential game winners, but also ones he missed throughout the game that would have accounted for overcoming the point differential in the losses?

Half the kickers in the league make $3,000,000 or more...

...seems like people expect something for nothing at the highest scoring position on the field.🤦‍♂️

Injury concerns and a cheaper option is why he was let go.  It is what it is.  The healthier, cheaper option was not the best option though.

Like a golfer with the shanks, his mental state in-game appears vulnerable and weak.  That gives me no confidence when games come down to kicks.

And therefore opponents know exactly what it takes to rattle him, execute it ............ and it works. That is a very big liability.

Don’t kid yourself it was 100% money.

Yes. Tepper may have tons of miney, but the salary cap is still a thing. The dollars saved releasing Gano went to other free agents.

People seem to forget Gano was also injured a bunch the last couple of seasons

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
