Based off Pre-season Games Week 2

1. TB, Carolina and Seattle are the most anemic offenses in the league.

2. Buffalo, Miami, Tennessee and Denver are offensive Juggernauts.

3. Houston, NYJ and LV are highly competitive and will be in playoff contention.

This is exactly why you should NOT be overly concerned that we didn't win our game last night.  Coaches are more about evaluating players than they are concerned about winning a meaningless game.

We knew it was going to happen last week. No matter how well Darnold did in his one series. Half the Huddle was going to pick one throw or missed throw and determine Darnold is garbage or HOFer.  Mostly the former.

Just relax folks.  The line shuffling will start to slow down these next two weeks and for better or worse we will have our starting 5 on the O-line.  Brady will have his starting 5 on the O-line.  He'll also have a drool bucket to contain himself from all the weapons he has at his disposal.

Rhule, Snow and Brady will actually sit down on 6 September and start building a game plan for the Jets.

I would hope we're anemic. We haven't even been playing our first string.

the bright spots have been the draft picks. I don’t know what the rest of the roster is doing during these glorified scrimmages lol

It's a bit disheartening that we aren't scoring on every drive but I think this preseason more than any other preseason is about evaluating the bottom half of our roster.   I thought our depth played well against Indy but not so much last night.

I think the brightest part of preseason is that just about every draft pick has flashed some ability to play in this league.  That makes watching preseason bearable.

Everyone gets hyped for preseason and then about half a game into it gets annoyed and just wants real football back.

That's really why preseason football has always sucked. It's not the real thing.

True.

Where are you?  I am in Kuwait and it's morning here but you normally comment on my takes when I post.   Do you live outside the U.S. or work night?

Or just have no life and stay on here all the time.  (JOKE)

I'm in NC at the moment. I am only awake because I woke up mid-hangover and it is making it hard to sleep.

I travel all over and can be in a lot of different time zones and working a variety of shifts. That is why I am sometimes on here at very odd hours.

You're right on this statement.  I would love to have seen a blowout last night but understand that preseason is a process of evaluation.  I'm not too worried at this time.  However......

Both weeks our third stringers have looked like G5 players running against P5 athletes.

Except for Slye.

This is actually a huge reason to be concerned. Unlike in college, the kicking game is extremely important in the NFL and usually 5-6 games are decided by 3 pts or less.

    • lol well that kinda ended up working out in the end, even though I still don't have my jersey yet. Was supposed to ship by tomorrow this time, but just got another email saying it was delayed another 3 weeks and because it's been delayed so long, I had to tell them to keep the order or cancel it, but gave me a 25% off my next order as an apology. Well, my original fear came true and they are now selling the FUSE version (but still not the Blue unfortunately) before the one I ordered was ever shipped. But that's awesome, because I was able to use that coupon to order the FUSE instead and then cancelled the original order.  So I got the jersey I wanted for only $6.30 more than the crappier version costs, and it also says it will be shipped immediately and get here early next week, or 2 weeks before the other was now supposed to be shipped out.
    • I've watched this and think we are well underway.  Believe it or not, Bryce is a big part of this.  The way he bounced back with such grace.  And we've got a lot of young players who want to make their mark, Dave is giving them an opportunity.  I loved our draft.  I like the number of guys we brought in, and they will help build the culture we want under Dave.  We're getting closer, and I think we'll see more wins this year than most of the board. The right culture breeds winning, and winning builds the right culture.  Imho, it's coming.
    • As others have said it's both. One creates the other. But it also takes time sometimes years. And there have been teams lately with new car smell coaching staffs that looked like they were putting it together quickly but things came crashing back down to Earth. Sustainability is the key. For that to happen the meddling of our owners has to stop and they cannot be tempted to return to their ways over any bump in the road either.
