Every one of us watched Joey Slye likely lose his roster spot last night and we knew it the moment it happened. But, because it was Steve Smith and he said what we all already knew, he's the bad guy. Okay, gotcha.

It can go one of two ways.

Either we lean into it and say "this is what you expect from our commentary booth", or we don't invite Smith back again to commentate.

He wasn't sitting on any fences out there - he'll have offended a lot of people. He will also have appealed to plenty.

And what about when you complete a nice pass and Smith shits on you anyway?  Or when he randomly calls out people not playing, or that aren't players?

Not to mention I wouldn't want to listen to the overwhelming majority of posters on this forum on TV...
