Quick takes:

LT: We went from Okung/Scott to Erving/Brady C.  Wish we tried to upgrade here rather than just fill.  Erving isn't awful but it's him next to Elflein (bad) that makes the entire left side super shaky.

LG: It is here where they view Elflein as an upgrade to Daley.  Daley went into 2020 as our starting LG.  This year he's behind Elflein.  Elf is obviously not good so I just don't see what they see.  Should be Dennis.

Center: Yuck.  No words.  We should have figured out a good Paradis insurance policy.  Seems the G/C in Elflein is what they wanted but you would think there were better options.

RG: Miller/Brown is okay.  Miller looked bad against PIT but he's been the most reliable guy since the start of last season along with Moton.  Brown is a force; could be the long term answer.

RT: Moton is secured. This is a check ✅

My question is who moves up first? Will Brady hop Erving, Daley supplant Elf, or Brown replace Miller.  And what is the backup plan at center?  Just way too shaky for my comfort level. I truly think we have guys to make a decent line so I'm hoping Rhule doesn't stay stubborn if the results are bad.  Brady-Daley-Paradis-Brown-Moton could be entirely respectable (minus Paradis)

Erving, Elflein and Daley all have pretty extensive injury histories, as well. I think we will see a lot of shuffling.

Daley is probably better strength wise than Elflein but he's def looked confused on some of his snaps. I'd like to see Miller/Brown as the guards, not sure if they've shown that. Erving will be injured soon enough so I'd like to see Christensen/Brown/C/Miller/Moton at least get a chance as a lineup. Left sides and right sides however, just those players

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for a few reasons:

1. As others have said, an o line is the one unit that needs time to gel. Our starting line saw one half of action in the preseason and has had limited reps together even in practice with Erving banged up. Give them at least the Jets game, against a team already decimated by injuries on defense, to get right and build more chemistry before writing them off.

2. We're making judgments mostly off watching our backups make plays against 3rd stringers/practice squad players. Hell they very well may be better than our starters but we have to acknowledge that Rhule and Co. have a better sense for the skill and execution of the o linemen watching them day in and day out in practice.

3. For the most part we haven't seen the current regime irrationally attached to poorly performing players when better options were clearly available. The main exception was probably Whitehead but even he eventually got benched for Carter. We just jettisoned a clearly well-liked Slye for a kicker we just picked up like 2 days earlier. If members of the line seem overmatched even after getting more opportunities to gel, I don't see Rhule sitting pat. I suspect there'll be a short leash after a game or two.

Right now they are worse than the 2020 crew. Everyone including Moton played poorly against 2nd teamers. Paradis looked like 2019 dogshit. ELf looked like Elf of the last 3yrs(very poor for those not in know), Miller had a decent 2020, looked like 2019 Para/Elf. Erv played the best and still allowed an 3-4second sack......

Unless magic/miracles happens its going to be a 25-31 rank type of season. This is coming form me, whom called a few times they would finish mid-pack(they did) last year. Need LT, LG, C, RG and the newly signed RT needs to play better. 3-4 is a difficult defense to play against with biltzs, Id hate to see what happened to Darnold if that was a real game against starters. Darnold would have been on IR before halftime, not even memeing...panthers may to carry 3 QBs just cause of the OL....ugh

Finessererere needs to call some calls- Okung for starters....give him bitcoins....... pair of OGs would be nice...and if its not asking too much an C as wellllll

Coulda had Trey Smith instead of the Snapper. Deonte and Trey would be nasty

Man that would've been so crazy if we did, especially with how good the other panthers rookies are performing. Trey beat out Duvernay Tardif and is now starting for the Chiefs. I'm so disgusted that we chose a LS over him. We just have to pray Deonte is our guy sooner rather than later.

Coulda had Christensen/Smith/Brown/Moton for a total of $22 mil a year for 4 years lol

    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
    • I can respect the fact that we should not glorify or normalize men who have a history of beating women.  I do not think anyone was thinking of that when they posted this, but if head-butting your wife and unconsensual sex (rape) is something you cannot overlook, I agree with that.  I think they are both half-crazed attention hounds regardless of their pasts.
