I think Will Grier finally received some real coaching for the first time and he worked hard and by golly the guy got better. This team has a few players like that. Young guys who hadn't quite taken that next step have done so in their first off season with this staff. I think we have some very good coaches around here from top to bottom and it's already starting to show. Carter, Luvu, Grier and (fingers crossed) Darnold. Some of the safeties are playing much better than expected too. Each 1 is an example of a player who's been around a few years and is showing improvement in their play. That's all hard work and coaching.

PJ is by far our best back up right now. That being said, TRADE HIM.

We are sink or swim with Sam.

If Sam goes down due to injury, I want a top draft pick.

Conflicted on this.

Lets say Sam goes down, and we are stuck with PJ or Grier. A year of sucking royally and having extremely frustrated players (defense even more so I would imagine after getting stuck in shitty situation after shitty situation) is not going to encourage any of the young talent to stay here.

    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
