Ok, I'll do it.

I don't think it's going out on a limb here to say:  The Panthers D is very much improved and the O much better than last year.  If Carolina can tighten up that O line and special teams, Panthers will be in contention for the post season.

Remember how well Kyle Allen played his first few games? He broke all those record then sucked. There’s been players to have one great season then suck the rest of their careers. Careful Darnold has played well but it’s only 2 games. He is still very young so he has a lot of time to get better.

He should have taken the sack but the idea wasn't as terrible as the result. He got hit while trying to shovel and then the ball also got hit as it was coming out. I think he could have pulled off the pass over the linemen had he not been hit. Hubbard was wide open.

Totally agree. But we still have to keep in mind that he's only 24 yrs old and started his career under the worst situation possible and has only been in Carolina for a few months. He still has improvements to make and has room to grow but I'm sure we'd all agree that the change his shown in just a short time with us is phenomenal and a real testimony to not only Sam as a person and QB but to our coaching staff and the organization that is being built here. I'm a homer and I'll admit it but I will also admit that this team is surpassing even my homerish expectations with the way they have performed so far. I honestly thought we'd win today but I honestly didn't think we'd completely dominate them the way we did. Our defense completely shut down one of the best backs in the NFL running behind a top 10 OL and that was a weakness of ours just last season and our offensive efficiency and Darnold's overall growth has exceeded my expectations for being this early in the process. This team still has a lot to improve upon and yet it already looks incredibly promising. It's also hard to remember that we're really in our first season of the rebuild. Last season doesn't really count because of Covid and Hurney still having control. Now with Fitt here and watching their first off season together and a mostly normal pre season,  I feel like we have truly seen what we can expect from this organization moving forward. Injuries or not, we dominated one of the NFL's top organizations for the last 15-20 years. When I looked at our schedule I thought we could do better than our talent level and the hot start might help us later on but this game coupled with Dallas and Minn I would use to justify predicting at least 2 of those games should be losses and the way we played this one has me reevaluating what we could possibly do this season.

Fitterer didn't make the decision by himself. You gotta give Rhule and Brady just as much credit (maybe more).

Darnold certainly looks like a competent QB, and hopefully will only get better.

Dart Darnold was slinging it today!

They said it was actually the defensive staff watching tape that brought him to Rhules attention. As defensive coaches they told him something like "Hey, this dude makes plays. You should check him out."

It seems it was totally a team effort finding him and seeing something that most of the NFL and it's media was missing. Which makes it even better imo. We're still in the early stages of a rebuild too. Give this staff a couple of more years to address more of the roster and I can't wait to see what this roster will look like. These dudes appear to be playing chess at a very high level.

he's a low to mid level game manager

I really don't see how you can reach that conclusion  about him at this point. Maybe you'll be correct but considering he's only 24, played his first 3 seasons on one of the leagues worst franchises and has only bee with his new team  for a few months. He has in no way reached his full potential with us yet so none of us can sincerely say we know what he is at this point as it has in no way been determined. I would say he is definitely showing the potential to become way more than that. His ability to go through his progressions and get the ball out quickly and to the right guy is already exceeding that comment and he's only just getting started. His overall play these first 2 games exceeds anything we've seen from our QBs since 2015.

That was a rookie mistake.  He looks like a rookie out there and a very good one at that.  Kid is young enough to learn and develop into a good player if he holds up.  I'm happy they decided to start over with him in his development.

Only 24 years old man and thats with years of experience at this point.

It's obviously early and the defenses we go up against will get tougher but Darnold is on pace for the following stat line:

425/620.5, 68.5% completion %, 4,964 yards, ~8ypa, 25.5 pass TDs, 8.5 INT, 8.5 rush TDs and 8.5 fumbles lost

You'd like a few less turnovers, but I think going into the year we'd all be ecstatic with nearly 5000 yards and 34 TDs on that kind of efficiency.

BTW his career efficiency stats are: 59.8% completion %, 6.6 ypa, 45:39 TD:INT ratio.

Very very good start so far, not without hiccups as both 2nd halves haven't been great and of course the INT today was terrible. But really can't ask for much better from a reclamation project that only cost us what could become a late 2nd rounder next year, if we make the playoffs/win any playoff games...

With an extra wildcard like last year, and looking at our schedule I can absolutely see playoffs this year. And no reason we won't be improved next year with another draft, not scheduled to lose anyone of note and a bunch of cap space... Future is bright in Carolina right now.

Yea but with the better defenses what I'm most worried about is our OL not Darnold. He's clearly shown he can play when he has time and even has a quick release. When we get a line this team is going to be utterly redicurous (misspelled don purpose)
