The irony is we just talk about what actually just happened. The real emos are the ones clearly and personally butt hurt about the text from strangers depicting just what actually happened. That's a chaffed ass for sure, projection sumbish

“What actually happened…” lmao

You all just live to bitch and moan. You’re smearing your feces on the walls and acting like you’re some sort of truth tellers, lol!

Sorry first post...

Things that bothered me as well.

  • O-Line is trash
  • Darnold having flashbacks (see above)
  • Robby seems to have taken the money and quit.
  • Eagles fans killed us in the cheering department when it counted. Stumbling into this forum I can see why.
  • Everyone getting their hopes up when we are clearly young and rebuilding, the first 3 games were cupcakes.

Nice first post. I can agree with all of that.

How much can Darnold be expected to accomplish when the O-line collapses by the time ball is snapped? I appreciate the organization spending money to bolster our defense but working on all elements of the game is what's needed. And let's face it, Tepper wants a hotrod under center and right now folks we have the eco-friendly Prius. It didn't take long for the tide to change in Charlotte against Darnold, but he never really had an O-line to work with that would help him find true success. Just another case of fool's gold for Darnold.

Pantherclaw, I absolutely agree and I see that my post didn't address that aspect at all.  Rhule is all about conservative, predictable play these days and none of that will fool aggressive defenses or inspire break-out offenses.  My main point centers on the failure of the offensive line to consistently protect Darnold thus hampering his ability to execute any given offensive scheme.

Someone needs to contact the Cardinals, Bills, Browns, Cowboys and Ravens to let them know that establishing a run game isn't important anymore, because they all have more rushing attempts than we do.

The importance of establishing the run is not an isolated philosophy to Rhule or RR and believe it or not, QB's like Brady who can handle carrying that load of a mostly pass offense are rare.

Honestly, I think he went to small ball to protect a lead with the injuries we're dealing with, and the offense having no rhythm.

Most of you are just over reacting.

I have felt like there is an element of this going back a few weeks.  But, even before the rash of injuries, it seems if we have the lead at the half, Rhule feels thats enough of one that we should sit on it and rely on the defense to shut down the opposing offense to preserve the win.  This is also why I think he's conservative about making any adjustments for the second half as well, because if we execute what he plans, we can just chew the clock.

He has to expect and want more from his offense in the 2nd half.  If we have any semblance of a 3rd quarter the last two weeks, we are 5-0 right now.  It is a fatal flaw that has to be addressed.

"protect a lead" is keyword for "about to lose the game"

Saw it happen last night too with the Colts who were dominating and then they played for FG with 5 minutes left even though they had 3rd stringers on defense by then and wha had happun wuz....

We all know the O is cold in the 3rd quarter in our games (and 2nd half last game.)   I watched both press conferences, and Rhule said the exact opposite of what your stating.  He talked about needing to play 4 quarters of football and he's spending a lot of time trying to figure out why our 3rd quarter O play has been poor.

He did NOT say, "Oh, well, I'm just trying to maintain the lead."

Well they aren't going to saw much to the media you judge based on the actions far far more than any words that come out. All he said was if we have the lead in the 4thQ the defense should hold the lead.

That's true given what we put in the defense btw but no reason that same idea can't still be true while you're trying to score TDs on every possession.

We wish it was just the third quarter but the staff sat on a two point lead well into the fourth. They also clearly wanted to take the ball out of Sam's hands for a time after the second pick. If we had a better oline maybe we could have continued to run the ball successfully with Chuba and win the game but when your qb is reverting back to dumpster status it's not going to end well.

Yeah, but you don't know what his idea of "4 quarters of football" is, because he also immediately defended the offense after the game on Sunday and said we moved the ball well and scored a FG in the second half.  That tells me his mindset isn't to go down and score a TD every time we possess the ball in the 2nd half.  There is a clear shift in mentality from the first and second half, offensively and it is because he relies heavily on the defense.

Notice how different the offense looked when Dallas went up 22 points?  Yeah.  I wouldn't read too much into what he says to the media.
