I'd rather draft one in the 1st if the right guy is available than trade a boatload for a vet. Plus, Wilson has said there's only a handful of teams he'll play for and we aren't among them. Rodgers is phenomenal still, but I can't get onboard with trading a massive haul for a QB in his late 30s. I just don't see the right situation out there to trade for a vet. I have to think the Watson ship has sailed.

A quality starting QB on a rookie contract is the biggest cheat code in the NFL.

Sam Howell and Malil Willis both project well here. One went to UNC, the other went to fugging Liberty, that'd go over great in this town

Tepper does not think like folks here, thank god

"FIX THE LINE FIRST" is probably the most childish observation you can make about this team right now, I swear you're some toddlers

It's weird how some posters think it's utterly impossible to do both. We're gonna make a lot of moves this off-season. Moton and Christensen may prove to be the answers at OT. If we're lucky, Brown will prove to be the answer at RG. If everything goes to plan, we could only be needing a LG and. C. It's a lot easier to fill holes on the interior OL than at OT, though I will admit that our free agent choices this off-season leave me pretty concerned about our ability to evaluate FA OL.

Sam had a bad game behind one of the worst OL performances in the last 2 years and the first reaction is draft or trade for a new QB, not fix the OL. Or if we do fix the OL do it with late round picks and FAs because that has worked out so well for us in the past.

This is baffling.

And he is calling us toddlers...hmmmmmmmm

It's literally game 5, Sam hasn't proven anything yet, everyone knows the offensive line needs work. Multiple things can be true all at once. You can't grasp that, nor do you like planning for contingency and assessing priority in regards to needs lol

You'd make a horrible GM, not sorry

Exactly, its game 5 and the obvious weak link has been the OL. If the OL could be fixed so easily in FA and late round draft picks, why do we still have this crap on the field?

It must be harder than you make it out to be.

Fitterer is a college scout.

Dan Morgan is a pro personnel guy.

I'm looking forward to seeing the two of them work together next off season.

(while also praying Morgan doesn't get a GM job just yet)

Like the fact they think in terms of spark score and say things like "we think he's a second round guard, third round tackle" proves they're not gonna be shy about going against the grain with regards to acquiring a QB and fixing the Offensive line. This fan base is just terrified to draft a QB bc they're not used to having good ones lol.

Because we've spent so many draft picks on defense the last two years? Again. Childish. Can't focus on multiple things at once.

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
