Smitty puts the blame yesterday all on the OL

You know Sam had an all time bad day when the best retort from some involves Cam Newton. Any other time the mention of his name here is met with hostility. It goes back to an old problem with this fanbase that is some people are perfectly fine losing depending on who is involved.

Hot damn who is this guy

Trust me, I know. What's the point if you can't win it all? This offense isn't there and it won't be until we replace Sam and the offensive line. Picking up his option was the dumbest thing we did in the off season.

This staff and the moves they have made at  qb would probably have 25 other head coaches on the hot seat

What QB is giving this roster a chip with this OL?

If you take a glance above your post, you'll notice we talked about improving the offensive line. The point is getting a good QB to go along with that line.

As poo as the offensive line is, they didn't make Sam throw those interceptions yesterday. Those were all bad decisions made by Sam himself.

I guess Smitty has not heard of the imaginary QB that is coming out in this years draft that is ready to take us to multiple Superb Owls regardless of the OL in front of him.

Do you think the Oline threw those picks or that people can't think there's a distinct possibility that both the line and QB need improvement? You seem to be struggling with this

The option is fine. If Fitts is as good as we all hope, trade him for value.

I notice that, but I dont see how we build the OL if we draft a QB with our 1st round pick. We tried the late round picks and FAs route this year and the OL still sucks.

Sam is not without any blame in this, he does need to improve or he will be replaced. Sam has not been perfect by a long shot. We also need better play calls when CMC is out and DJ Moore is being locked down.

Sam missed TMJ this week and last wide open, He missed Robby on the deep shot yesterday but he would have hit that with more time from the OL. He has also thrown some bad INTs.

I think we should we go OL with the first pick too. I wouldn't be upset. However, Sam isn't the answer.

I don’t think ppl realize how bad those ints were, the first one to dj Moore he threw Idc if he was prime Peyton Manning, that was getting int no matter what

They are bad, bad. It's almost as if he literally isn't seeing the defense. I think the game is too fast to him. He can't process it that fast or something. Because he said it best, it's like he's seeing ghosts out there.

    • wow.  You know folks on the huddle are desperate when this sort of shi is being used to pump themselves up.
    • I don't care all that much about stats. What I care about is how did he look on the field, and that was poor-to-average for everything but the second half of the GB game. Carolina was losing every game... of course there were some passing stats generated.  What is missing here is quantification of how many times these QBs showed something worthwhile justifying the #1 pick. That Manning season gets tossed out a lot, and while there were a lot of interceptions and not many wins, Manning absolutely looked like an NFL QB that just needed some seasoning to take the next step, which he did that following year. Bryce had little to none of that on an individual basis.  While this is an interesting table, it tells only a fraction of the story.
    • I thought Winston was going to be a 10-15 year problem, sooo glad he went the better josh Freeman route. I mean prime Ryan, brees, and if Winston became that guy........Id hate to be a DC for Carolina.   The main deal is 1st overall pick goto the worse teams.  Looking at the list only Burrow has been able to break the loser mentally fog over those teams. Goff was reborn for the lions and you could make a case for him, but 2nd team. Luck and Cam are about the same, injuries ended great runs.  Burrow should get more MVP votes.
