Charlotte fans are definitely performance-based. No support for losing teams. It can’t be that different for other markets as well. The Hornets games will pick up if they keep winning

Charlotte is a huge transplant city too and all the sports teams are generally quite young. I mean the panthers are what? Halfway through their third generation? So it’ll still be another 5-10 years before the children of life long Panthers fans grow up old enough to continue establishing a base.

The arena was packed with Celtics fans no different than the stadium has a ton of Cowboys fans even when the Panthers were a winning team. There are some franchises with cache that get by with that.

As for our stadium experience, anyone who doesn't remember 2001 need only to go to a game anytime this season.

I went to the Spurs/Lakers game the other night in San Antonio, and the arena was legit 75% Lakers fans.  It was sad, but its not exclusive to Charlotte area sports teams.

Any small market team vs. a large market team will face these issues unless they are top of the league.

This is nothing new. This fan base has been horrible. Can’t take many serious. I’m a fan of the team and what it encompasses but these dookie bros and jimbo trailer park boys that are loudest on here are just wastes of semen.

What does the Navy have to do with the Carolina Panthers? ….. I kid.

that Vikings poo was over the top and a clear indicator that something isn't right and has drastically changed.

My sister and her husband have been PSL owners since the beginning, and she swears this is getting worse. Never really heard her complain about it before.

1) Transient town.......lots of people with loyalty to their born and bred town home teams....They'll want tickets only when their team is in town.

2) Demographic change.............more Hispanic born per capita than any other city in the US is right here. For them.......football using the feet to move the ball is what the prefer.

3) Young people don't care.................sports are like cars, houses and families to them...........they are losing interest within generations growing up now..........its cell phones, social media and gaming that rules.

4) Aging PSL owners...........win or lose there is no waiting list to buy them.

I've worked in marketing in professional sports and have been watching all this since the late 50s ...........so add it all up kids...................and connect the dots..........the apathy for a professional level home sports team is already baked into this town and getting worse.

Winning solves everything?...........well is used to........ but I'm afraid some don't even care about that.

It started with disregarding the most important player in the history of Charlotte sports, then replacing him with Teddy Bridgewater, and THEN replacing HIM with Sam Darnold. It’s honestly been a shitshow.

Cheer up….Nick Foles or Blaine Gabbert are next…..

(I kid, I kid)

you are right

    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
    • You do know the biggest military base in the US is located just an hour from Raleigh in Fort Bragg right? Military families are family oriented. A hour drive to games is nothing compared to traveling 3 hours to Charlotte.   Cmon man there is nothing happening in Western Carolina other than Charlotte. I only go west for outdoor activities and some nature/mountain views.
