Cmc isn’t built like Henry. Also cmc probably juices

Why do you think CMC juices ? He was 185 coming out of high school then he was 202 out of college and maybe 208 now , I think he’s just put to much emphasis on his quads and power .

My point wasn’t that you build around the RB just we would still need to find better than what we would have on the roster.Just like you said we need a good OL which we don’t have at the moment nor have we invested in since CMC got here. They built this team around defense not the RB they just thought the rb could make up for a lot of their shortcomings on offense which he did when healthy but like you said when he goes out we’re dead in the water.

But that wouldn’t be hard to go into a season and not want your rookie RB you are developing be your featured RB.   You Named a bunch of teams that easily put backfields together that get the job done.   Bucs, Rams, etc,

I don’t know what Rhule’s goal is he is building toward on O.  Presently we are built around a RB.

True the Titans are all in on Henry but he did have a lot of touches  in college and also High School

That's valid. I took a look at their college numbers and though their rushing attempts are close McCaffrey still outpaced him by a large margin due to his receiving touches. He had 112 more touches and his yards from scrimmage were 5128 compared to 3876 for Henry. CMC actually had more receiving touchdowns than he did rushing. No doubt he was a versatile weapon which is why he went 8th. But where the Panthers sit today is they have to shift how they use him or what you see now is what you get. You also can't deny that most teams in the league have formidable offenses without making huge investments in the backfield or building around that position.

Mike Florio at PFT is VERY bearish on Watson to Carolina. Specifically saying that Watson wants to go to Miami and only Miami. He also basically laughs at CMC being a tradeable asset at the moment.

Well that settles it now we can all move forward

ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports the Panthers "have no plans" to pursue Deshaun Watson before Tuesday's trade deadline.

The Panthers "never considered offering" Christian McCaffrey as part of a trade package, per Florio, who casts doubt on the sides making a deal this season. This conflicts with a report that Panthers owner David Tepper hasn't given up on trading for Watson. The Dolphins continue to look like the favorites for Watson, though there's a lot of moving parts here. Watson will sit out the rest of 2021 in Houston if he doesn't get traded before Tuesday's deadline.

He had a big jump in noticeable muscle mass from years 1&2 to 3. Like everyone was talking about it lol. More than a traditional nfl workout regimen. His brother got busted twice and suspended twice in the nfl for performance enhancing drugs. He keeps getting these injuries. My guess is he’s juicing in the off-season then going off them to avoid drug tests. I played college ball and knew guys who juiced and it kind of fits. Just a guess though.

We’re built around the defense and that’s why we draft more on that side of the ball since CMC got here. It would be more accurate to say the RB is our best offense player but tell me how did we build around the rb when we have not given him a o line to play with? Once again I’m not saying build the team around a rb you should build around the able but when we drafted cmc we thought we had the qb in place with Cam so I dont think we were trying to build around the rb

I think most of these dudes probably hit a cycle in the off season, either that or they’re on the cutting edge of drugs/chemistry with the type of cash they’ve got so they get stuff that’s undetectable.

I hear you ,  from the information I gather beside Qb and kickers probably over half today NFL players are juicing

Well we have the highest paid RB in the NFL.  Are adding JAGs and bust at QB and investing the D.  I call that being built around a RB.

Well we have 55 percent of our cap space invested in the Defense side of the ball which is what you call being built around the defense.CMC is the 5th highest cap for a RB in 2021 Henry 13,500,000 Barkley 10,025,692 Gordon 8,941,176 Mixon 8,126,471 CMC 6,899,500 Elliott 6,820,000 Ekeler 5,750,000 Cook 5, 113,026 Kamara 5,000,000 Hunt 4,870,588 Chubb 4, 782,381 Jones 4, 464,705  The top teams still spend on the RB and that’s the number 1 seed in the AFC Bengals and 1 seed in the NFC Packers . So CMC cap hit is not the reason we are losing you might look at we have like 25 percent of our cap in dead money.

    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
