All blown to hell, only to have the guy you recklessly, aimlessly and improvidently spent all of that capital on to replace, come in, off his couch, and have the most productive day you have had from a QB in two seasons.

And you still found a way to lose.  fug you Matt Rhule.  You don't deserve this team.  Go back to hocking flood damaged cars on a rot lot somewhere.

I was afraid I’d disagree with this post.  Avoided it for a while.  Now that I’m here,

yep.

Nailed it Diddy.  Cam did more than enough to win and Rhule fugged it up.

So you really think Fox and Ron didn't have a hand in picking the players??

So Marty for 10 + years was the one not listening to coaches and picking players to fit his philosophy alone??

They didn't have final say. Fox said he couldn't "shop for his own groceries" that was a quote in the papers back then. Ron came in and soon had deal with Gettleman who was a control freak.

Neither had the power to control the roster and choose their own GM.

Too much too fast without the resume.

Bottom line is we went back to Cam after allllll of this hullabaloo. It's honestly embarrassing for Rhule and Tepper.  And I can't imagine Tepper likes being embarrassed.

Fake out released him, released Heinicke, traded Kyle Allen, signed Teddy, struggled with Teddy, fail to trade for Watson, then Stafford, then turn to trading for Darnold (for way too much), and struggle with Darnold.

Now, it's back to square one, with money flushed down the toilet and fewer draft picks in 2022.

Guys like Heinicke, Mac Jones, etc. all playing well while we went through the trashcan circus bin to get back to where we are. Heck, might as well count Hurts as well since we were in a position to draft him in 2020 R2 with an unknown with Teddy coming off injury.

The crap thing is how hard you can see they're trying to scrap for a manageable QB and it's just not working; at all.

I agree with Gentleman  years but Fox was only saying that his final year when they Drafted Pickles.. Othet then that it was clear Fox Philosophy of not liking rookie QB was instituted.. Because they never drafted a top rated QB and only got Vets.. Also it was clear Fox didn't like drafting offensive players in General.. You can see during his Tenure it was rare to get a highly drafted offensive player other then Olinemen and RB...

Marty was here for most of these years and there is no way Marty had final say until 2010 draft..

That was ownership. The brand. After getting burned by Collins ownership was reticent. We continue to have great RBs though.

Cam was the highest we'd drafted since that debacle with Kerry. That was a good call. There's that.

That was Fox to because he took the same philosophy to The Broncos... And again they rarely drafted offensive players high which is a Fox thing..

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
