We're 5-6...got beat by s 3-6 team....i see nothing trending upward...

Could also look at it as were 5-6, same amount of wins from the last year with 6 games left to play. Have our QB for the next couple years locked in, defense is almost completely rebuilt, and we’re only on year 2 of our rebuild.

I hate to do this, buuuuut, QB isn't locked in past this year. It's hard to say if he'll be back next year. I think he will be. I think the coaches would be fools to let Cam walk. Today was the best QB play we've seen in a long time. Sam looked okay the first 3 weeks, but I don't think even those games did QB play look as good as today.

I apologize for trying to find some bright spots, I know that is not a good fit among all doom and gloomers. I would appreciate to keep this relatively free of negativity as there are plenty of threads for that:

1) Really happy with Cam’s play today. A lot to build on as he gets the full playbook down. Looked in control and played smart.

2) Really impressed by CJ Henderson’s tackling, his supposed weak spot. He got beat on one play, but looked really good overall. Excited to follow his progress now that he’s back from his shoulder injury.

3) From what I could tell Brady Christensen looked pretty decent at LT. He moves really well. Would like some more input on this as I just casually focused on him on a couple of plays.

A bad loss, but I’m pretty excited overall moving forward as our defense matches up pretty well with most teams moving forward, Gilmore getting more up-to-speed, Horn coming back for the playoffs(?) and the offense continue to progress under Cam.

Dude don't ever Apologize for wanting to be optimistic and positive.

I have a positive: cam was literally reading off a wristband. You could tell he didn’t even have the terminology of the offense totally down yet. I’m sure we couldn’t check much. Despite this we didn’t even approach a delay of game penalty, except for the one that was wiped off. We always seemed to struggle getting plays in on time during his previous tenure. Nice to see that was a coaching error. Also noticed Washington just so happened to have a few of those.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
