This clown had the audacity to mention cam in a comment about how no one on the offense is playing well enough. I have had enough of any cam slander.

Cam Newton put this franchise on the map. He might not be the best player to ever put on a panthers uniform, but he is without a doubt the most important player to ever step foot in Charlotte. There is no roaring riot without cam Newton.

this guy put this franchise in the national spotlight. This guy won more MVPs than drew Brees. This guy won’t back to back nfc south championships for the first time in the history of the nfc south. This guy went 15-1 and brought this team to a super bowl with no name wide revivers.

keep cams name out of your mouth you usless quarterback. I’ve had enough.

Cam has 3 less tds than him on the season in a 3rd of the snaps after learning the playbook on 2 weeks notice when he's not being benched because Fatt has an axe to grind. Oh, and he also hasn't went 20 fuging quarters without scoring. They're not comparable. Cam is and always will be 2x the QB Sam is.

He didn't put this franchise on the map. We had been to multiple NFC championships long before he came along.

Lol you must be a new fan who googled this franchise. Cam Newton put this franchise on the map and there is no argument to be made. This team had 2 runs in their franchise. No one cared about the Carolina panthers nationally. Cam Newton brought national exposure to this franchise that is has never seen before. Julius peppers, Steve smith, Thomas Davis, Sam Mills, Luke Kuechly, Jordan gross. No one has done more for this franchise than cam Newton.

I really don't think he meant that the way it came off. He was just trying to make a "we're all in this together" type of statement and said something stupid while sitting up there trying to speak for a stupid performance under a stupid coaching staff.

this is too rational for the huddle...

Yeah, I agree upon looking into it more. Media just trying to stir the pot like always; we shouldn't have any ill feelings for Sam imo. It all falls on Rhule and the coaching staff ultimately.

I've been here since inception. I drove to Clemson in 95 from Raleigh.

I was at every home game for 10 years.

Correct.

Cam made us nationally relevant in a manner we never had been…and brought folks outside of the Carolinas in.

That’s great than you should know how important cam Newton is to this franchise. I’ve been a fan since day 1. I was here for the Rae carruth murder. The Fred layne tragedy. Jerry Richardson calling out Julius peppers and running him off. The 1-15 season. The 2-14 season. Jerry Richardson punting a season in the name of the shield. This franchise was a joke. Cam Newton finally brought credibility to it. I don’t need to hear darnold telling me he’s not playing well enough.

    • This is gonna be longest six weeks ever
    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
