Hell yeah! Who was the nerd that was chasing me around on the message board claiming I was making poo up about Samir being a badass and great at his job?

It was me. And I can see you’re already spinning like a top because one of the worst run franchises promoted a guy who has made horrible mistakes, if he’s done anything at all.

Its a one year extension. We legit can cut RA this year and pay 4million, and save cap. We have an out next offseason with little penalty. None of his contracts are traps like MH's.

Suluiman came here in 2020 and we had 4 million in avialable cap and 50+ dead cap. The guy has us in a position where next year we will have the most cap in the league.

You can hate all of this micro-transactions but none of them impact the big picture. It's a business and at the end of the day his job is numbers. He took us from crisis to a greenfield situation. I get that we dont like who Rhule/Fitt are chooosing to be on the team, but Suluiman is the reason we arent going to be in cap hell with any of these contracts.

Cut him when. Like when exactly  can  you cut him and it only be 4M. Just answer that. Then we can go further.

And who’s responsible for Teddy, CMC, Kk 13M for 2 games. Okung for 13M at 6 games. Boston, Miller, Roberts, Apple, Weatherly just in 2020 alone.

And this year Erving Elflei, the Darnold extension, and 20M guaranteed to Anderson. How is wasting this much money a good thing, To win 10 games in two years and wind up with numerous holes and little resource to fix them.

How is this sort of incompetence something to be praised.

Hmm. He was touted as the team's throat cutter earlier on, the hatchet man when it came to the salary cap and players who ate more of it than they should.

And here we are about the time when those cuts are being considered. He's gotten a promotion.

Let's hope it doesn't remind anyone of the ascension of Robespierre.

If we are referencing historical figures, I would prefer Suleiman the Magnificent.  🙂

Tiny resume?

  • He signed Reddick for cheap and got us 10 sacks out of it
  • He fixed the cap hit that Shaq made on our books by restructuring his deal and we can move on (trade/release) from him and it would give us more cap savings.
  • He restructred Paradis's contract to void the final years of the deals so we wouldnt be paying 10+ mill per season for an injured center
  • He fixed our disaster of a situation that MH gave us with over 100 million dead cap in back to back years
  • He stuctured Elfein and Erving's contacts so we can cut them and save money
  • He made it where we can move on from Moton's contact in the final two years of his deal and pay 3 million while saavig 17.5million if it doesnt work out in the long run (the anti--hurney)
  • He has a built in out in the CMC contract for next year
  • He has put us in the healthiest cap situation this franchise has ever seen heading into 2023

What do you mean tiny resume? I only listed 8 things from top of my head. There are so many things that he handles as a "CFO" that we do not see.

You think restructures save money! Keep digging your own hole. Paradis was ignorant. They are using 8.2M of cap space for a season he’s not even on the team. But that’s better than just cutting his sorry ass and acted saving money. There are no built in outs. That the website recommendation. As I said before, all contracts have an out every year. Just how much dead money it costs. That’s why CMC is so hard to trade. It comes with a 19M cap hit immediately. To play somewhere else. Take a look at the Saints if you want an example of restructuring and void years catches up. But at least they were a contender. Not blowing 80M to finish 5-11. Or giving two guys 40M guaranteed for,…reasons.

He is the finance guy Tepper brought with him from Pittsburgh.

Not sure he has any player evaluation experience. He deals with players' agents.

Might as well join in the clown show when it comes to learning on the job. Sign him up for several scouting camps, unless he's just evaluating players by spreadsheets and numbers like the length of the OTs arms.

That’s because at least 5 of them are/were not good in any way.

Dude, I have told 2 different times on this MB that Samir was NOT here as an employee of the Carolina Panthers for the KK Contract. That was in 2019. Here is an easy breakdown for you:

Sumir hired 1/22/20

Tre Boston - 2019
KK - 2019
Russell Okung - Trade 3/2020 - we had no input on existing contract and Samir was focused on future cap and taking over for MH on cap

John Miller is a 1 year deal for less than 1 million (???)

Weatherly - bad signing (MH) and only 6mil total cap hit

Seth Roberts?? Wtf is he even brought up. You mad we signed a bottom of the roster player for 600k GTD????

Eli Apple 1 year deal at 3mil with 750k cap hit...

Dude everythig you just brought up, was our team bargain shoppig withn ABSOLUTE ZERO impact on future cap. The ONLY player we are paying for right now in dead cap in that list is Tre Boston. That was pre-Samir.

Wouldn't we all. But so far, he's been the guy who could be blamed for axing Cam, Greg Olsen... a few other favorites since he came on board. But he was also the guy, as I have been reminded of, who had to have given a thumbs up to the Robby Anderson contract extension and the fifth year option on Sam Darnold.

Perhaps he's more of the Red Queen (City) for this organization.

cutting paradis would have cost us 14million in dead cap and we would have paid out the rest of his contract (5 total years). By voiding his last two years, we saved 6 million for the long term.

Paradis was a bad contract handed out by MH. It was salvaged with this move.

Anderson is not a one year deal. We gave him $20.5M guaranteed and put some of that into 2021’s cap. If we release him now, he’s got a $16M dead cap hit so we are stuck overpaying him.

We have $4M in dead cap if he’s released before 2023, which would mean we paid $20.5M to have 1 more year of Robby. The Robby extension was poo, period. Same as Darnold’s 5th year option. A good cap person would have said, don’t guarantee it because we can tag him in 2022 for a few million more or do a long term deal and make him cheap in 2022. A good cap person would have suggested that and said it’s not worth the $18M risk if he falls on his face, which was more likely than being so good that we’d have to franchise him.

we can trade Robby post 6/1 and it would save us 13mill and only be on the for 4. We do have an out next year. Like I said, RA's contract is a one year extension. We cut him next offseason and its 13 and 4 again.

The decision behind it is not was im referring to but rather how we handled it financially to not handcuff us for the long term. Samir isnt the owner of who we sign, its how we sign them.
