There are so many good OTs in this draft. If we ignore it again I’m gonna have a stroke. You just will not get a better opportunity to lock up a crucial position….we have to do it. If we take a mediocre QB at 6 instead of angling to get an OT it’s going to be gross negligence.

Going with the strength of the draft is usually a good plan.  Do that a few seasons in a row and you've added a lot of talent to your roster.

Compare that to reaching for a player.  If we took Willis as a QB, he'd need at least a couple of years to really start producing at a decent level.  Whereas one of these LT could be 'the guy' from his very first OTA.  So it's just no contest.

I expect with Campen as OL coach the Panthers are committing to building up the OL.  That gives me some hope that common sense will prevail on draft day.  We shall see . . .

I know Rhule wants to win now. I think we all do. It’s not happening with Darnold. The smart play this year is to acquire picks for next year while trying to address needs this year with BPA. In this scenario there were two trades back in the first round (definitely possible with Fitt).

The first nets two 2nd round picks in a swap with WFT.

The second nets a 1st (2023) and 2nd from Pitt. The 2022 picks are Raimann, Strong, Asamoah, and Parham through 4 rounds.

Then next years picks are:

CAR 1st (likely pretty high)

Pitt 1st (also likely top 15ish)

CAR 2nd

Pitt 2nd

Buffalo 2nd

So five day 1-2 picks in 2023 which is exactly what a team in a rebuild needs. If Strong works out with a big arm and underrated movement then we’re set up perfectly to surround him with talent. If he doesn’t work out then we take Stroud or Young (bc we’ll likely suck) and again….we’ll have plenty of assets to surround a young QB.

Who would Washington and Pittsburg be moving up for? 1st and 2 2nds and 2 1sts seem awful steep considering the talent at the QB position.

I think he’s highly overrated. Gets by with the skin of his teeth.

What don't you like about him ?

The tape above is fantastic against LSU no less.  He's definitely got the size at 6-7.   As a recent convert from TE he's only going to get better at LT as he plays more.   He seems like a great prospect.

    • I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option s a call for the pitchforks. We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that. The patter it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.  One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.   Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.
    • We hate losing. I don't know Bryce to hate him. His play as a QB, I absolutely hate. It's just not good enough. If there were a lottery held to select the order and all 32 starting QBs could be drafted as the starting QB for whatever team selected them, how long do you think it would be before Bryce's name was called? Top 10, top 20, bottom 8? Think about it.  For me, having never seen back to back games with franchise QB level performance in 3 years tells me what I need to know. We still need to be looking for our solution at QB.
    • Dude, I'm saying the Cardinals have proven they know nothing. Not saying keeping Bryce is the best choice long term, just saying that we've made the right move for this moment in time.  But man, the Cardinals are never a blueprint for success. Haven't been since they were in Chicago.
