Most athletes don't have fathers who played a decade plus in the NFL having a much different perception of football as business than the average player.

Understood, but from what I've read McCaffrey has the typical "put me in coach, I can play" mindset you expect from most players.

That's the message I'd want put out there too.

But the specific injuries and the time missed just don't add up.

That depends lot on team doctors...and coaches.

Remember Rivera always put Cam Newton back in as soon as possible but held out Luke Kuechly.

So you are just making poo up now.  Cool, noted

Find me another top player who has missed as much time over such a relatively short period with no major injuries (torn ligaments, broken major bones, QB with throwing arm injuries, etc). CMC has missed a ton of time with relatively run of the mill minor injuries. It just doesn't add up.

Wouldn't surprise me if good old dad hasn't been in his son's ear reminding him that his former teammate is a great example of why you have to look out for yourself and not the team (especially when the team is ass) with injury management. The team won't be there for you if you gamble and lose because they're always going to do what they perceive as best for them.

He went on IR for a high ankle sprain after getting an MRI.  So are you suggested him Rhule sat him in the middle of the season for a minor injury.  (hamstring)  That literally doesnt make any sense

Imo the teams that would be interested in CMC would also be picking near the bottom of the 1st round, and I think we can get a late 1st for CMC. It's good for CMC to be on a SB ready team, and it's good for us to get younger and clear out cap space as we're not going anywhere next season.

I expect other veteran players to be traded as well, and we should have more restructuring on the way. A CMC restructure seems likely.

Loading up on draft picks and trading down is just what the doctor ordered as we wait to select a QB in 2023.

I'm suggesting he isn't playing at anything less than 100% and why would he? The team sucks. It's not in his best interest or the team's with their financial commitment for him to be playing banged up even if he gets medical clearance. You're just being hyper-emotional, per usual.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
