Zappe?

Meme Wtf GIF

Zappe is likely the only one left when we pick in the 4th round.  The others are #6 prospects and trade back guys either mid-round 1 or an anquired 2nd rounder in the case of Ridder and Howell.  It seems we are keeping all options open for a QB.

The Panthers have begun a busy week hosting quarterbacks being considered for the upcoming draft. Those scheduled to come to Charlotte are Liberty's Malik Willis, Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett, Mississippi's Matt Corral, Cincinnati's Desmond Ridder, North Carolina's Sam Howell, Western Kentucky's Bailey Zappe and Nevada's Carson Strong. Two of the first three are considered potential candidates for the No. 6 pick. The team also is hosting the top three tackles this week and next.

Jerome Ford, who made his way to Cincinnati by way of Alabama, comes off a career campaign and grades as a late-third-round prospect. He timed the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds during the Combine after tipping the scales at 210 pounds.

The San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, and Arizona Cardinals all brought Ford to their facilities for an official top-30 visit.

They're going to take another corner at 6. This is the smoke screen.

    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
    • I'd give anything to go back to a 4-3 but we are so removed from having the pieces for that. All because Tepper wanted to force this 3-4 on all our coaches.
